Content Objectives
SW be able to find relative frequency of
given data. SW collect their own data and
find relative frequency of their data
(fraction to decimal to percent).
Language Objectives
SW listen to classmates (listen and
repeat, listen and do as data is written,
and interactive listening as they survey).
SW collect data from classmates, such as
favorite food, school subject, pet, or
musical group (Celce-Murcia, n.d.).
Meaningful Activities
TW explicitly teach relative frequency. In
pairs, SW survey classmates, carefully
collect data, and determine relative
frequency. Representative samples of a
population, as well as biased and unbiased
samples will be examined.
Review/Assessment
SW prepare a speech evaluating the
collected data of classmates (listen and
do). SW narrate the survey process and
describe results. TW video speech and
evaluate speaking and pronunciation.
Partner will listen and repeat partners
analysis of data (Celce-Murcia, n.d.).
