Persons with disabilities are persons with physical or mental

daily living skills either continuously or periodically. And as a result of
this parents, community and some professionals are particularly
interested in helping them to be productive in their own ways.
The Special Education in our country initiated the project
Transition Program for children with Intellectual Disabilities. The
curriculum domain for this program includes daily living skills, personal
and social skills and occupational guidance and preparation and
occupation. The program is designed to teach work to special
education students age 18-22 and to support their growth into adulthood.
The program is anchored on the goal of helping students acquire the
skills to secure and maintain employment after they leave. As they
progress, students develop to learn and to work independently.

ACCOMPLISHMENT
The students currently enrolled under this program did varied
activities. They were engaged in doing art activities which developed
their aesthetic domain. They were trained to do some janitorial services
like sweeping the floor, windows and cabinets. They were also taught
on how to wash dishes properly. They also did basic cooking skills. They
helped in maintaining the plants on their garden by watering it and
removing the weeds. These simple yet challenging activities gave them
happiness and contentment.

Students also received materials like sewing machine, oven, hand

mixer, washing machine, plates, glass, spoons, forks, and others. These
materials were introduced to the pupils by familiarizing with them, on
the first place and further on how to manipulate them. Pupils enjoyed
their activities using the materials with eagerness. Through this program
pupils are expected to gain more skills which will help them become
independent through proper guidance of their teacher, family and other
people around them.
