During the Premove Survey:

It is best to start the Premove Survey wlking room-by-room with the Salesperson indicating which items are to
be moved. he or Shewill then sit down with you to introduce Vanpac services and analyze your needs. Please
remember to alert the Salesperson of items that were previously damaged and /or repaired, items of special
concern, and any items that may have posed problem during previous reloction (e.g. hoisting, stair carry, etc.).

The Salesperson will provide you with information on insurance, customs requirment, Destination services,
etc..

Moving
Moving is a Challenging Task. The same has to be planned and accomplished deliberately and with great care.
Each step to be taken at the appropriate time. One small miss and the whole affair may end up in a CHAOS.

SELECTION OF A MOVER
The most important part of the entire move is the selection of the right Packer who will be handling your entire
move, right from the time of Planning, Packing at the Origin residence till the final delivery at the destination.
The choice depends on the Credibility and Authenticity of the Packer having good Recommendations and past
Experience. He should radiate a friendly feeling and someone who can gain your trust and confidence giving
you a sense of security and feeling that your goods will be handled with utmost Professionalism and Care within
a good cost structure. Cost consciousness is a good thing but DO NOT necessarily go for lowest bidder as
there may be some catch somewhere.
We feel sure that your choice of course will be VANPAC then we feel major part of your move is over and
now you can relax that you are in good hands. The hands who will do all the work for you and solve all your
problems keeping your mind free to tackle other aspects of relocation.

CONSULTANCY & PLANNING

At Vanpac consultation is on a turn-key basis in the field of office & House Hold Goods relocation. We believe
that customers are a long-term business partner and strive to meet their requirements swiftly and professionally.
This should be done quite ahead of the time of move. You start at least three months before your schedule
departure. Many decisions have to be taken as to what items you will have to be discarded and disposed of.
As much information as you can get of the new location will help in your decision making. You may consult your
packer also who is there to provide any help required in making up your decisions.

DOCUMENTATION
Once the planning is done and necessary decisions made the next step in line is the completion of the documentation
formality. We in our country have to be very thorough with this since certain documents are required for
anything that leaves the country. We recommend that at least a month prior to your departure or minimum a fort
night the following set of documents will be required by us to obtain the necessary Export Permission on your
behalf from Custom Authorities.

conduct initial on-site visit (your residence) to determine your moving requirement and estimate cost and
weight of the shipment. Customers can always be assured of value for your money. The most experienced
supervisors and packers (working in the company since its establishment) come with all necessary packing
materials at your residence and ensure uncompromised protection of your properties and also documents.
We understand that you want your goods to arrive to the destinations in the same condition as when it left
origin. With our high quality of packing materials and advanced wrapping systems, you can be assured that
your fine arts, furniture and upholstered goods to also be further protected against dust, stain and odours.
Keeping in mind the emotional attachment people associated with household goods has, Vanpac takes utmost
care in Packing, Loading, & Transportation. Our professional group take all the worry out of moving hassle
from the moment they arrive at your residence, monitoring the shipment and until all goods are delivered at
the destinations.
The packing date is confirmed to your convenience and according to your scheduled program. Complete door
to door schedule can be worked our depending on when actually the goods are required at the new destination.
Normally we at Vanpac prefer to attend only one client on a day. This does not mean that we are not equipped
to handle more than one client at a time but to the fact that we like to devote our full attention to one customer
at one time.
The packing is done by our professional staff at your residence. The type of material used entirely depends on
the type of items being packed. The quality of the packing material used is of the most high standard available.
Fragile items are reinforced by wooden crates. After each item is wrapped and packed properly the consignment
is prepared for the mode of shipment as follows:

This document was prepared to give you some valuable and helpful information on packing
your personal effects /small articles so that they can be safely moved by Sea / Air & Road.
Small articles such as dishes, table lamps, pictures, and other fragile bric-a-brac must be
thoughtfully and carefully packed in boxes if they are to arrive at your destination in as
good condition as they were prior to being packed and moved.
Packing for moving is an art requiring a certain amount of expertise and know-how. Vanpac
(Pak) Inc. has many years of experience of household goods packing and forwarding. We
have a well trained and experienced staff to do any part of the packing you might prefer to
leave to us. We have all the proper equipment and materials to do the job efficiently and
thoroughly.
The important decision of which items you choose to ship abroad, is made with the
consideration of certain factors. The choice is easier if you have already purchased or rented
residence overseas. If you know the approximate size of the rooms and have a floor plan
made, you will be able to easily determine just how smartly your furniture and appliances
will fit. Let Vanpac pack your boxes. In order to have your belongings covered by insurance,
they must be packed by a moving company. Were professionals; let us do the dirty work.
Make certain that the delivery into your residences will not cause any insurmountable
problems due to oversized furniture. You should consider hallway and stairway dimensions,
elevators/lifts may sometimes be too small to be used to transport some items.
Customs can get confusing. And the requirements vary greatly from one country to another.
There are some basic elements for you to keep in mind, but be sure to check with us for all
restrictions. After all, a simple oversight could result in delays, fines, or even seizure of your
entire shipment by foreign Customs authorities. To be safe, dont take any of the following

In most countries, your household goods and personal effects can often be entered dutyfree. (Note: Some items may be subject to certain provisions.) Its important to remember
that any duties or taxes levied against your shipment are in addition to the moving charges.

Wrapping Paper:
We require plenty of good quality wrapping paper. Most of packing companies save and use
their old newspapers. Keep in mind, however, that the ink on newsprint never thoroughly
dries. Consequently, the goods you wrap in newspapers are most likely going to be soiled
and will require cleaning after unpacking, and before you put them away.
Our packers line the bottom of the carton with several layers of packing paper for
additional cushioning.
Cups and glasses wrapped in a paper twice for the local packing for international packing
wrapped thrice. Tear or cut-up some small sheets of paper. Use at least a couple of
small sheets between each glass or cup as protective lining.

Carton Sheet (5 Ply)

We use 5 Ply Carton Sheet 36" x 104" size for heavy articles packing, such as furniture & electric
appliances.
Carton sheets for furniture wrapping with several layers of wrapping corrugated sheets
for additional cushioning.

Packing
Procedures

Delicate furniture wrapped in a Carton sheets for the international packing wrapped
twice. Tear & cut some portion of sheet to make more protective & molding into a
proper shape. After article completely covered with the carton sheet, we make Plastic
strip net on packed article this will help in putting sheets together & as well as this
will help in lifting & loading.

Cartons
We require boxes in assorted sizes. All boxes should be in good condition, and must have
covers on them in order that they can be closed up and sealed with masking tape.

Masking Tape:
The best tape for this purpose is plastic tape. Our rolls of tape are be at least 1.5 to 2 inches
wide.

Permanent Marker
This is for marking your packed boxes with such information as the contents of the box,
ARTICLE NUMBER, & WHAT INSIDE etc.

Marking on packed boxes, FRAGILE THIS SIDE UP.

Some Things To Consider

We Pack on a room-by-room basis. That is, we dont pack articles from the living
room in boxes with articles from the kitchen. This will save much confusion later when
its time to unpack.
If possible for our customer, we start packing early. Remember, if we were to pack
only 35 boxes a day, in 4 days we would have 140 boxes packed. We start in areas
where the goods are not in frequent use
Hanging clothing, such as suits, dresses and coats, should be hung in wardrobe cartons.
This will save you the trouble and expense of having your garments cleaned and
pressed later. Hanging clothing cannot be left in garment bags. Garment bags were
not designed to be used as movers wardrobes, and they will not withstand the stress.
Clothing to be hung is usually taken out of the garment bags, hung in the wardrobes,
and the garment bags folded and placed in the bottom of the wardrobe.
Dresser drawers need to be empty. Movers usually do not move chests of drawers
with the contents of drawers left intact. Too much weight in the drawer could cause
damage to the drawer while your furniture is enroute.

Packing
Procedures

The rule-of-thumb here is the small, heavy articles, such as books, records, canned
goods, etc., would go in smaller boxes. Bulkier, but not-so-heavy articles, such as pots
and pans, linens, small kitchen appliances, etc., would go in somewhat larger boxes.
Very bulky, lightweight articles, such as blankets, pillows, toys, large lampshades,
shoes, etc., would go in the largest boxes.
We do not pack for moving on a van any flammables, combustibles, or explosives.
The safety of the shipment is the primary concern. We are not supposed to transport
aerosol spray cans, paint thinner, gasoline, or anything else of a flammable or explosive
nature.

Packing In The Kitchen

Packing fragile articles we plan to pack the heaviest objects toward the bottom of the
carton; more delicate articles should be packed closer to the top of the carton. The first
thing to do is to lay out flat on the table a sizable stack of packing paper. Select a sturdy,
medium sized carton. Line the bottom of the carton with several layers of packing paper
for additional cushioning.

Packing Cups And Glasses

Cups and glasses may be nested (one placed inside another) and three or four wrapped
in a bundle. Tear or cut-up some small sheets of paper. Use at least a couple of small
sheets between each glass or cup as protective lining.
Take first glass and line with a couple of sheets of your cut-up paper.
Place second glass (or cup) inside the first one. Line with two more sheets of paper. Insert
another glass (or cup).
Using your best judgment, nest three or four glasses (or cups) and lay these on your stack of
wrapping paper in a diagonal manner, off center closer to your body.
Grasp corner closest to you of two sheets of wrapping paper. Wrap around your glasses (or
cups).
Grasp next corner of wrapping paper and wrap around your glasses.
Repeat this procedure with a bubble paper & corrugated Sheet.

Packing Pictures
Small pictures can be wrapped and stood up in normal packing boxes with other goods.
o Extremely large pictures, such as the type commonly found hanging over a sofa or mantle (usually
measuring 24" x 36") should be packed specially designed picture or mirror wooden crates.

Containerization

Sea Freight:
The Best protection against damage, container, either metal or wooden, depending on the nature of the
shipment, are brought to the customers residence. Possessions are carefully packed and container is
sealed to ensure the highest possible degree of safety. Container is sealed after custom clearance for
onward delivery to destination.
Air Freight:
These shipments are also prepared suitable for air freighting at the residence and dispatched direct
through the Airline to the intended destination. To keep the weight down we only crate fragile items
where as the other non fragile goods after packing in Cartons are stitched in cloth/burlap before dispatch.
