BUREAU VERITAS is a large multinational organization founded in 1828 with 850 offices and inspection
centers in 140 countries worldwide. Bureau Veritas deploys multi disciplinary skills of more than 40,000

Introduction to BUREAU VERITAS CERTIFICATION/ BVQI

BUREAU VERITAS CERTIFICATION is the independent certification body of the Bureau Veritas
Group. Previously known as BVQI, Bureau Veritas Certification was set up in 1988 and have since
provides comprehensive range of certification and auditing services from public standards to more
customized schemes. Today, BVCertification is a global leader in the International Certification Market with
more than 30 national and international recognitions worldwide. Over 80,000 world class companies in over
100 countries have selected BVCertification as their certification service provider.

BUREAU VERITAS PHILIPPINE BRANCH

BUREAU VERITAS has been providing wide range of services in the Philippines since 1970. For almost
20 years, it has operated through local agent. Finally, in 1995, the Philippine Branch of Bureau Veritas was
set up with the companys registration in the Securities and Exchange Commission under Registration No.
AF094-0006 on.15 February 1994.
To service the requirements of its clients all over the archipelago, BV maintains two offices; Manila & Cebu.
Its organization is divided into three departments namely, Marine, Industry and Inspection and Certification.
Last 2011 the company acquired Inspectorate inorder to strengthen and capture more clients for Industry
Department. There about 60 fulltime administration staff and technical personnel who hold expertise in
various fields.

BVCERTIFICATION PHILIPPINES
The year 1995 was the start of the certification activities of BUREAU VERITAS in the Philippines with the
creation of Certification Department. Functioning under the umbrella of BV Philippines, it carries it
certification activities under the supervision and control of BVCertfication Holdings in London and other
international certification centers, strictly complying the worldwide BV management system.
In September 20, 2006, BVQI evolved to the unique brand - Bureau Veritas- and became Bureau Veritas
Certification. This migration was a name change but organizational structure and operations remains the
same. The year 2012, BVCertification acquired Philippine accreditation to offer local certification marks
thru the Department of Trade and Industry - Philippine Accreditation Office, now known as the Philippine
Accreditation Bureau.
Today BVCertification continuously provides assessments and certification services to its more than 300
clients in the fields of quality, environmental, health & safety, social accountability, Food certification as
well as trainings in the Philippines. Uniquely set-up, BVCertifcation has access to expertise of the BV
Group worldwide.

INFORMATION ON INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE & AUDITORS EXPERIENCE

The experience of BVCertification Philippines is in various industries/sectors. Clients in the manufacturing
sector are in electronics, petrochemical, automotive suppliers, agriculture and others. In the services sector,
BVCertification clients, amongst others, are in banking, educational institutions and training centers, health
clinics, information technology, logistics, land based and sea based manning agencies, engineering,
constructions and power generations. Working closely with a diverse client based has allowed
BVCertification to gain expertise in assessing both manufacturing and service industries.
Bureau Veritas likewise provides training to standard related training courses such as Introduction or
Awareness of standards, Internal Auditing Courses, Documentation & Systems Building, etc.

Its major clients include PETRON CORPORATION, SAN MIGUEL & Affiliates, IBM, NIDEC Group,
SONY, NESTLE PHILS., DOLE PHILS. Bureau Veritas has been active in the medical sector having about
30 medical clinics certified to ISO 9001 with DOHs QSS requirements. Recently, BVCertification has
certified the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) - STCW & SIRB Offices on their Quality
Management System.
BVCertification had attained recognition with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of
Health (DOH) to assess quality system standard (QSS) requirements in behalf of these government agencies.

Auditors Experience
All BVCertifications Auditors are highly trained and qualified individuals having met the stringent
qualification requirements laid down by more than 30 accreditation bodies. Aside from meeting these
stringent qualification requirements, all auditors have wide industry sectors auditing experience.
Presently, BVCertification Philippines has eleven (11) assessors qualified on various international standards.
These auditors have undergone extensive training and are very experienced in auditing.
