COMMUNICATION PROCESS
Sender:
has an idea (thought) to be communicated
The thought is encoded in a way that is understood by both the Sender & Receiver
Transmission:
through a channel (medium) that links the sender with the receiver
Proper selection of channel- vital for effective communication
The Receiver:
should be ready for the message
receives the message
decodes the message in to thoughts
should get the same idea or thought as that of sender on decoding
Communication is incomplete unless it is understood by Sender & Receiver
A person with closed mind does not understand the message, especially when information is
unpleasant
Noise: is any thing that hinders communication- may be with the sender, transmission or
receiver.
Example:
Any disturbance that affects the development of clear thoughts.
Ambiguous symbols that result in faulty encoding
Interruptions in transmission
Understanding can be obstructed by prejudices.
Inattention
Fear of possible consequences of change- desired change may not occur
