FromWikipedia,thefreeencyclopedia

Neurophysiology(fromGreek,neuron,"nerve",physis,"nature,origin"and,logia,
"knowledge")isabranchofphysiologyandneurosciencethatisconcernedwiththestudyofthefunctioningofthe
nervoussystem.Theprimarytoolsofbasicneurophysiologicalresearchincludeelectrophysiologicalrecordings,
suchaspatchclamp,voltageclamp,extracellularsingleunitrecordingandrecordingoflocalfieldpotentials,as
wellassomeofthemethodsofcalciumimaging,optogenetics,andmolecularbiology.
Neurophysiologyisrelatedtoelectrophysiology,neurobiology,psychology,neurology,clinicalneurophysiology,
neuroanatomy,cognitivescience,biophysics,mathematicalbiology,andothersciencesconcerningthebrain.[1]
