Dear Colleague,

Internal Market Advisory Committee (IMAC) Working Group meeting on

4 June 2010 in Copenhagen
The Danish Internal Market Centre and DG Internal Market and Services would like to
invite you to the next meeting of IMAC Working Group on Governance, which will take
place on Friday, 4 June 2010, beginning at 9h00. A draft agenda for the meeting is
enclosed. The meeting will take place at the premises of the Danish Internal Market
Centre at the Dahleraps Pakhus, Langelinie All 17 in Copenhagen.
We would propose to start the meeting with an adoption of the agenda and of the minutes
of the 26 February IMAC Working Group meeting. The main items on the agenda for the
meeting concern the 3 recommendations on measures ensuring better coordination on
single market issues (recommendation 1), measures improving cooperation between
Member States and the Commission (recommendation 2) and measures promoting
regular assessment of national legislation (recommendation 7). The attached Annexes A,
and C contain proposed indicators for the three recommendations.
We would like to focus the limited time we have for the meeting on an informal
exchange of views on mainly recommendation 1 on measures to ensure better
coordination and on presentations on the other two recommendations. Therefore we
propose for Member States to send their written response to the indicators directly to the
IMAC secretariat.
The meeting will be structured in such a way that we spend the morning session on
recommendation 1. During this session participants will be split up in two groups to
discuss main obstacles and challenges in relation to ensuring better coordination and
exchange views and experiences on examples of good practice. The discussions will be
facilitated by external facilitators from Bigger Picture. We will at a later stage send you a
few questions, which we would like you to reflect upon in preparation for the discussion
during the morning session.
In the afternoon we will have a report back to plenary on the discussions in the morning,
followed by presentations related to the topics of the other two recommendations on the
agenda: measures improving cooperation between Member States and the Commission
(recommendation 2) and measures promoting regular assessment of national legislation
(recommendation 7).

Commission europenne, B-1049 Bruxelles / Europese Commissie, -1049 Brussel - Belgium. Telephone: (32-2) 299 11 11.

Any further updates will be sent to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, we would
be grateful if you could confirm your participation at the meeting by sending an e-mail to
the Danish Internal Market Centre (tfh@ebst.dk), cc. the IMAC secretariat (Markt-ImacSecretariat@ec.europa.eu).
We should remind you that the Commission can only reimburse travel expenses for one
representative per delegation from Member States. Unfortunately, the Commission
cannot reimburse the travel expenses of the representatives of EEA/EFTA or candidate
countries, as they have an observer role during the meetings. If you have any questions,
please do not hesitate to contact the Danish Internal Market Centre or the IMACSecretariat.
We hope to see you all in Copenhagen on June 4, 2010.

Yours sincerely,

iv
