The Writers Workshop

I used to dread teaching writing
but now Im looking forward to it.
I used to feel like I was floundering through the process
but now I have a guide.
I used to think the writing process was a linear sequence
but now I know it is an intertwined back and forth.
I used to think read alouds were a separate reading comprehension task
but now I know they are a critical part of writing development.
I used to cover the surface of the writing process
but now I can take my students deeper.
