1.

What are the social issues presented in the movie and how do they
affect the people concerned?
Sexual abuse and violence against women were the primary issues that were
laid on view. The dilemma of the story largely came from the esthetical
arrangement of non-viable discrimination of women from a marginalized society.
The series of measures that was presented were an eye opener for most of the
people who were used with the patriarch mentality and culture of America.

The

heavy handedness of men to the women of the sidelined aspect of the society
should have been endured extensively if Lori Jenson were not brave enough to file
the first ever law suit against women abuse at Minnesota during the 70s.
It is the social responsibility of the Pearsons, the mining company, to uphold
gender equality within the workplace. It is the right of the women to have or handle
the same occupation that are normally held by men. The same manner of treatment
should be pursued for both men and women by whoever intends to have a
workplace having both sexes. The Pearsons hired women to a mining contract which
was generally given to masculine labor forces. Thats good. But they failed to bear
the sustainability of equality between both sexes. This issue immorally obliterated
the right of women to have an equal treatment at labor. The company had
managers which were supposed to be the immediate representative of the higher
administration of Pearsons. They should be the one to initially procure the safety
inside the mine. However, they were the ones who tolerate the wicked tradition that
was solely endured by the female workers.
The society, in general, is affected by the harassment found not only in
Minnesota but also all throughout the globe. The sons and daughters of the mother

who were hurt could also experience the pain which their parents suffered. If the
courage of one (Jenson) was delayed, the curse within the culture and air of the
society could have been worse. More people could have been hurt. The humanity of
our civilization could have been murdered erotically. The mothers of our races are
the ones that are most vital and should be carefully caressed by the means.
2. How do social issues presented in the movie depict life in the society or
life itself?

Life is a charged from the capability of women. Men are masculine and more
influential according the social norms. However, they are actually nothing without
the sacrifices made by the ones who gave birth to them. Life is borrowed from the
good Lord. The good Lord lends women the aptitude to give life to his beautiful
creations.
Life is technically from the belly of our mothers. Life should be treated
accordingly with respect to the ones who gave us blood. The story depicts how
ungracious the people have been since the conception of what is culturally and
traditionally normal. It portrays the morally handicapped culture of the norm. It
showers us the tears that were cried by the past generations; the pain seeped
through the cloth of the veils worn by our bygone mothers.
The women of today have journeyed through a lot of suffering from the
preceding ethnicities wrapped by the past. The women of the past have endured all
their lives the blood and tears which were ripped off from the sleeves of their
humanity. Life could be as hard as the surface of the earth. It could be as rough as
the sands of what conspires from the graves of the dessert. Nevertheless, the ever-

changing stream of the society is catching in the pity of seeing the women being
abused. The world is changing for the better. Life is being prolonged by this change.
Life is improved all throughout the years.
The mimicry of what has been is now immaterial. The government, the
people and the law conspires to become an antecedent of love and attention to the
needs of our women. There might have been crimes today, but they are now called
as crimes. There might have been hurt still left that lingers through the midst of
our feet, but we can now shield ourselves with the covers of what is currently
considered as justice. Women should be free by now. Life should be better by now.
Lori Jenson believed on that.
3. How does stereotyping affect the marginalized sector?
The norms should not in any way dictate what is right for anyone.
Stereotyping is the ways of the wicked. It is an excuse for steering up a disguised
criminality.

The marginalized should not remain sidelined by what do people

collectively think is correct. Abuse and harassment will always result when the
many collides to create a cartel of satisfaction. Progress will never be achieved
when the society is tied up to stereotyping. The mainstream will also normalize
the things that could kill the morale of the society. Going with the flow of the current
will freeze out the deontological approach of the decently straight individuals.
Thousands of ethical issues will arise from the stream of the typecast.
Typecasting and punching pigeon-holes should not be exercise to push through the
life of a marginalized society. Bill White uttered in the movie, Rangers are hard as
steel, huh? Not this one. This one is made with butter. Not all things which are
considered to be typical by an ordinary individual should be universally true and

normal. Typecasting, it should be true sometimes. But it should be viewed as the

common good for all. Ethical issues should not be dealt with the fingers of the
mainstream. Special treatment is badly needed whenever some is hurt or whenever
the call arises. Dead fishes go with the flow of the ocean, the living fins go against
the tide of the current.
Stereotyping affects not only the marginalized sector but also the society in
general. The past has been an ugly culture of betting lives for the sake of getting
type-casted. The society of today should live with vigor and go against the stream
of the ocean.
4. Explain the pros (if any) and cons (if any) of a patriarchal society.
Men and women should be treated equally. In the same manner, both should
also treat each other equally. If there are cases in which the balance between two
parallel entities moves its center, there should be a governing law that provides
protection for the right of a distinct side. There are no beneficial effects of having a
patriarchal society. Likewise, there are no good reasons of taking up a one sided
feminist social order.
The bad effects of male-controlled social order are obviously within the reach
of our perception. No one could deny the demons that slice the wrist of justice
whenever sexism predominantly devours the control over a certain matter. What
beauty comes from the eyes of a sexist mind? It is purely one-sided. No beauty
appears from a biased view point. Appreciation and gratitude is the product of total
equilibrium.

The society should be organized by the equivalent judgment of both men and
women. There should be no superior to the other being. The reoccurring problem in
the society is that the cultural norms state that men are always more powerful than
women. This is a complete baloney, a reluctant charge that keeps on pressing the
bruises of the dented edges of the social order. Men and women are both rational
animals that are capable of making vital decisions. Both can be right at the same
time. Both can have a good idea in the same manner.
Men are from Mars and women are from Venus, they say. On the other hand,
men and women could also be on the same place. Why would anyone separate the
two sexes who primarily live to depend on each other? Men need women. Women
need men. The logic is conversely correct.

5. What are the negative effects of anti-feminism?

Anti-feminism invokes the notion of hindering the basic rights of women.
This could lead to the constraining of the right of women to form part of universal
suffrage, to hold public office, to work, to have fair wages, to own a property, to
have a quality education, to serve in the military, to enter into legal contracts and
to have marital, parental and religious rights.
Anti-feminism will hold back the civil rights of women. It will make gender
discrimination more serious and eminent throughout the society. The opening of
new educational possibilities will turn into dust if women are continually
differentiated. The government will have lots of challenges in terms of making sure
that the people who are found guilty of harassment will suffer the consequences of

their behavior. The major decisions of the social order will become more prejudiced
if it lacks the inclusion of female perspective. The labor forces of the economy will
generate a smaller amount of productivity if there is no direct annexation of
females dynamism.
Womens rights are also human rights. There should not be a gap between
the Boolean trends in the society. Both men and women should have an
equivalent dynamism in labeling and choosing what is right and what is considered
as better for the society. The labor forces of the economy should have an equal
bearing of perspective from both sexes. If not, there will become a massive
discrimination through the goods and services being rendered to the households of
the community. The things that we buy, consume and glance at should be the ones
who wield the most care and attention. The labels and trademarks that may contain
sexist symbols could mold the earliest stage of childrens thought process. Sexist
language may inculcate biased habits inside the mind of the youth. Discrimination
could be prolonged throughout the millennium. Anti-feminism is not a good idea.
However, too much feminism could also lead to the total destruction of a wellordered society.
