Mathia and Matos Address Warren Firearms Rights Rally

It’s Not Terrorism -- Citizens' Militia Is Part of State Law and Constitutionally Protected

Stacey Mathia and Thomas Matos, the US Taxpayers Party of Michigan Gubernatorial ticket, were the only candidates for
governor to keep their word to personally attend and address the crowd at the Warren Firearm Rights Picnic in Halmich Park this past
Saturday. The rally was organized for citizens to show their support for both the 2nd Amendment and Michigan’s “Right to Carry”
laws, and Mathias and Matos were proud to attend. It seems that only Mathia and Matos considered the people’s firearms rights –
and, those are rights, not privileges -- a significant enough issue to personally support with their presence, despite several current
contenders responding to the invitation that went out to all candidates with assurances that they would demonstrate their support via
their attendance.

The event was attended by a large number of citizens openly carrying their firearms. Stacey Mathia spoke of her deep commitment
to what she termed “our liberty-based way of life here in Michigan,” and, as Mathia affirmed, that does includes law abiding citizens
being armed. “It is the ultimate in personal liberty and responsibility to be able to adequately defend yourself,” explained Mathia.
“Firearms give an individual that ability.”

“Our Government has run amuck and continues to spiral out of control,” Mathia said. “No one wants to step up and say enough is
enough. Today’s governments want to take our freedoms and liberties away from us, bit by bit, piece by piece, and dollar by dollar.
The fact is, the responsibility for this continuous encroachment is ours. It is up to us to put a stop to it. And, we must. That is what
my campaign is all about. Politicians from both parties have taken from us, through taxation and regulation, the rights and liberties
our nation’s founders fought for, against what was then the most powerful empire in the world. They gave their lives to preserve
these rights and liberties for us. When we are taxed out of our homes and businesses, when our freedoms are abridged, infringed and
outright abrogated, we no longer have the ability or incentive to create jobs or expand businesses, which is exactly what we need to
do in order make Michigan’s economy thrive and grow again.”

Mathia’s speech at the event included citations from the Michigan Constitution and the state laws outlining her responsibilities as
Governor to regulate the militia, as well as the citizens’ responsibility to perform their duty as the Citizens’ Militia if called upon to
do so. Mathia emphasized repeatedly that the militia of the people is not terrorism or gangster-type activity as commonly portrayed in
media, but rather an integral, legal part of our state law. Mathia thanked veterans in the crowd for their military service, and noting
their familiarity with automatic weapons, cited their value as part of the Citizens' Militia of the State. Following up that appearance at
events over the past two nights, Ms. Mathia made it clear that law abiding citizens will enjoy their right to carry firearms with
resounding support from her Office as long as she is Governor.
