wasaMexicanpoliticianandinterimPresidentofMexicofromJune1toNovember30,1920.

AsGovernorofthenorthernstateofSonora,heledtheRevolutionofAguaPrieta,whichputanendtothe
presidencyofVenustianoCarranza,whowaskilledduringtherevolt.ItwasthenthatdelaHuertawas
appointedinterimPresidentbycongress.[2]
PanchoVillaandhisarmysurrenderedduringdelaHuerta'spresidency.DelaHuertabecametheSecretariatof
FinanceandPublicCredit,[3]andinthatrole,negotiatedtheDelaHuertaLamontTreaty.
DelaHuertastartedafailedrevoltin1923againstpresidentlvaroObregnwhomhedenouncedas
corrupt[4]afterObregonendorsedCallesashissuccessor.[5]Catholics,conservativesandaconsiderable
portionofthearmyofficers,whofeltObregnhadreversedCarranza'spolicyoffavoringthearmyatthe
expenseofthefarmerlaborsector,supporteddelaHuerta.[5]Withhissuperborganizingabilityandpopular
support,ObregncrushedtherebellionandforcedDeLaHuertaintoexile.[5]OnMarch7,1924,delaHuerta
fledtoLosAngelesandObregnorderedtheexecutionofeveryrebelofficerwitharankhigherthanamajor.[5]
