Transverse electromagnetic wave

Electromagnetic wave has two components which is electric and
magnetic field that oscillates at 90 degrees ( also 90 degrees perpendicular
to each other) to the direction of motion making it a transverse wave.
Electromagnetic wave does not need any medium in which to travel, allowing
it to propagate over long distances. An example of a visualization of
transverse wave are ripples on the pond.
