PICK UP Lines

Supporting gospel John 1:14-15

When youre down, whos going to pick you up?
This is the question we will try to answer.
God is LOVE. Its the one ULTIMATE reality. It has been, its always the same and it
will be the same in the future.
However, if theres one thing that would stand out in all the characteristics of
GOD, it would be GRACE. Its a gift thats not found anywhere in the world. Its
something so significant that we cannot live without.
GRACE is something that you receive but you dont actually deserve. Also, its
called unmerited favor. Its different from MERCY as it means you dont get the
punishment that you deserve. GOD is rich in these two things, GRACE and MERCY.
However, in the end times, HE will have something that should really stir us up.
JUDGEMENT is receiving all the punishment that we deserve. Its the price of
what we have done during our lifetime. With the measure you use, it will be
measured to you (Matthew 7:2).
We will receive bad judgment if we continue to ignore His constant grace and
mercy.
GRACE is the one that we need to be picked up when were down. And its in this
aspect that we should immerse ourselves in.
The catholic teaching tells us that GRACE has two kinds; sanctifying and actual.
Sanctifying grace is innate in us, it makes our soul holy. Actual grace acts on the
outside a nudge that makes you work on to receive the sanctifying grace.
Example would be the sacrament of reconciliation. You just have to follow this
nudge to receive Gods ultimate grace and in this type of grace, we are surviving
our daily struggles especially during the times we fall.

How do we receive this grace? Based on Rick Warrens work, lets look at the
important pointers on how to sustain Gods amazing and eternal grace.
CALL OUT. Cry out for Gods help. As long as you pretend to be self-sufficient, you
short-circuit Gods power in your life. You need to admit your inadequacy and
say, God, I cant handle this! The Bible says, God is against the proud, but he
gives grace to the humble. So give yourselves completely to God.... Come near to
God, and God will come near to you (James 4:6-8a NCV).

FILL UP. Fill yourself with Gods word. Let Gods Word comfort, strengthen, fill,
soothe, and give you the energy to keep going. Get into it every single day of
your life. David prayed, I lie in the dust; revive me by your word (Psalm 119:25
NLT). If the answer were to look within yourself, youd already be changed. You
need to look to God! Hes the only one with sustaining strength.

DRAW IN. Accept support from Gods people. The Bible says by helping each
other with our troubles, we obey the law of Christ, which is, Love your neighbor
as yourself. God never meant for you to go through life on your own. He puts
weaknesses in our lives so we realize how much we need each other. You need to
accept support from Gods people.

HOLD ON. Hold on to Gods promises. There are over 7,000 of them in the Bible
waiting to be claimed. Heres one of them: He gives strength to the weary and
increases the power of the weak. Even youth grow tired ... but those who hope in
the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will
run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40:29-31 NIV).
Keep your hope in the Lord and your eyes focused on the hope of Heaven, not
just on the here and now.
If you notice something, theres one common thing among the pointers and that
is, we cannot do it alone. Yes, Gods grace isnt found in our own personal and

selfish efforts, we need to look at others and we need to look at God Himself to
give us the grace that we need.
When you fall, what makes you stand up isnt your own personal function; its the
helping hand of the people that loves and surrounds you that is the real essence
of Gods pick up line. To tell you that youre not alone that you might suffer but
its not going to take long. Its because there will be people He will use as a tool of
his love and mercy. This is grace, personified.
Dont be afraid to fall, dont be affected of your weaknesses for in Gods Grace
you will be strengthened. There will always be someone who will pick you up.
Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me,
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christs
power may rest on me. 2 Cor 12:8-9
