Stock Track Report

1) What was your original strategy for your portfolio? That is, explain in your
words what decision criteria you used to determine which stock to add to the portfolio
and why you believe these criteria will help you identify stocks that will increase in
value.
My initial strategy I used for purchasing my portfolio was picking the popular stocks I
had heard of on the market, for the first few stocks I purchased since this was my very
first time actually buying stock on a market. After, a while I decided to use the trend
analysis method where I researched and studied the market historical trends carefully as it
showed me the past increases or decreases of the stock. This method I musts say really
helped me to invest in good stocks and increased the value of my final overall stock. This
helped me from purchasing stocks just by name popularity or buying random stocks
without studying its past financial trends.

2. Report your portfolio performance, that is, report its final value and its percentage
return.
My portfolio has a final value of $104031.08, the percentage overall return is $4.03 and
the S&P is $10.59

3.My portfolio was highly diversified because I did not want to put all
my eggs in one basket. And as learnt in class diversify stock reduces
the risks associated with the purchase of only one stock, thus helps
spread risk over a large number of stocks.

4. Was your strategy successful? If it was or was not, please provide us insights
as to what happened in your favor or against your performance.

Yes I believe my strategy was successfully. Even though I made a

couple losses as a result of the demand and supply of the market. I
was able to realize some amounts of profits from using my strategy of
trend analysis. Also, even though I made some losses, I was able to
make trade with the lucrative stocks I purchased to help offset someof
my losses

5. Finally, what would you change in your strategy if you had to complete this
assignment again?
Yes, I had to complete this assignment again I would change my initial strategy from
purchasing random stocks to using the historical trend analysis to guide me in purchasing
all my stocks right from the beginning. This method help me build a really diversified
portfolio and increased my overall stock value.
