Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 13-15; Acts 25

Heb. 10:22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our
hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not
shall be damned.

2 Kgs. 17:25 And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not
the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them.

Hail Jesus, Youre My King!

Martin Luther came out of his prayer closet and declared, I have
conquered! He had not even met his adversaries, but he knew he prevailed with
God in prayer, therefore he would prevail over personalities, principalities, and
powers in this life. That is the benefit of your finished work on the cross.
I want the sick to be comforted with my words. I want the depressed to be
encouraged by my faith. And oh! I want the lukewarm to be re-fired by my love. I
claim it today in prayer, because that is another benefit from your cross.
That I can even ask these things is because of your finished work. The cross
makes mathematically logical things mysterious and theological. That is why the
Bible contains so many Therefores. It is grace operating from your finished work.
Why have I boldness? Because of the crosstherefore. Why are we a
multicultural church, joined as brethren in one body? Because of the
crosstherefore. (Heb. 10:19). My boldness arises from the perfection of your
sacrifice. It has nothing to do with perfection (or imperfection!) in me. It is all
due to your merit, and how wisdom brings her own strength with her, Prov. 8:14.
Heb. 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.
It is true! I believe it. By this confession I affirm Jesus did such a finished
work for me that his sacrifice makes me perfect in my standing and perfectible
in my state. This is a bold thing to say, much less to pray, but I base it squarely
upon the cross of Christ. That gives me a mission within this life, by grace.
1 Cor. 2:2 For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ,
and him crucified.

Dear Savior, Lord and King:

My carnal mind maps-out a way for me to become happy, and work my
way to heaven. I rationalize with rational lies. But your way is opposite.
Believing, then displaying that belief, are not matters of merit to take pride
in. They are so simple all boasting is excluded. When it comes to heaven, only
Gods free grace makes a way, through faith in Christs finished work.
1 John 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life
is in his Son.
Is __________ or __________ unsaved? What are their reasons? Do they
think they have to perform some ceremony, sacrament or ritual to be saved? Do
they think they are too bad? Then help me announce the truly good news: God
worked his way to them! The resurrection and his own word are confirmation.
They think it is too easy: just believe. Surely baptism, at least, is a precondition to being made a Christian. But no, the verse does not say he that is
baptized not shall be damned, but, he that believeth not. Holy Spirit, help
__________ and __________ to so believe! It is so simple there is no excuse.
To believe is simply to trust, to depend, to rely on Jesus Christ. Being
baptized is just submitting to the ordinance Jesus said all his converted and saved
ones would agree to, as the one way to display being born again. The outward
symbol does not save, but it proclaims my testimony before others of exactly
what I am believing in: the finished work of Jesus Christ according to the
scriptures, and my walk in newness of life because of my trust in him.
There is but one door to eternal life. Give us all grace to enter in. Amen.

Maker and Master:

I read of some who followed their own way, and you sent lions among
them. But you drive lions away from those who keep to the hard but right way.
Isa. 35:9 No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not
be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
Lions are afraid of fire, and you are a wall of fire around me (Zech. 2:5). I
need not fear to tread the pathway to revival. I can fear no evil Lord, as long as
you are with me (Psa. 23:4). But to be safe I need to be holy, and to be holy I
have to trust in the Holy One, Jesus. Order my steps in your word. Keep me
walking in the Holy Spirit. Sincerity is not enough; I need your truth as well.
Help me submit my judgment to the word of God (right now). I have an
inerrant Bible to read, and an infallible Spirit to instruct me in its meaning. Even
as we should look to the Strong One for our strength (Job 9:19), so I look to the
Wise One for wisdom (Prov. 8:12-14).
Jas. 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out
of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
True wisdom only exists in meekness. Give me the meekness to keep to the
road seeking revival, though many other people beckon me to follow them
instead. Let me not be drawn-aside from this quest. Gird up the loins of my mind
with your truth. May the Holy Spirit so rest on me that I have rest within
me, and no desire to leave the straight and narrow way, even for a moment.
Faith is worthless if it gives up. Let me hold on and hold out until I have
that which I seekrevival! Amen.

A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING

Chronological Bible Reading: Psalm 16-18; Acts 26

Prov. 6:6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

ONCE to every man and nation, comes the moment to decide,

In the strife of truth with falsehood, for the good or evil side;
Some great cause, some great decision, offering each the bloom or blight,
And the choice goes by forever, twixt that darkness and that light.
By the light of burning martyrs, Christ, Thy bleeding feet we track,
Toiling up new Calvries ever with the cross that turns not back;
New occasions teach new duties, time makes ancient good uncouth,
They must upward still and onward, who would keep abreast of truth.
Though the cause of evil prosper, yet the truth alone is strong;
Though her portion be the scaffold, and upon the throne be wrong;
Yet that scaffold sways the future, and behind the dim unknown,
Standeth God within the shadow, keeping watch above His own.
James Russell Lowell, 1845

Rev. 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders
fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which
are the prayers of saints.
Our Lord and King:
The prayers you accept are not the chanting of clerics, the liturgy of priests,
the burning of votive candles, or the spinning wheels of Tibetan monks. It must
be the heart-prayers of saints that is heard.
As we go through this summer we ask you for special blessings; not to
slump, but to soar! Anoint the worship teams to help us praise you. Prepare the
preachers to help us hear you. Work through every aspect of the service to
bring us your presence in power. Be with us at All-Church Camp, then move us,
out of ourselves and into the moment of challenge and ministry responsibility.
We love to praise you, to meet with saints, and to hear from your word. We
come to lift up our souls in adoring love to you, and celebrate what you allow us
to do by putting the eternal word of God into the immortal souls of men and
women in our city.
You must allow us to worship you in a fresh spirit of revival this summer!
We confess you are great, we plead for your presence, and we desire you to open
doors for witness in lost lives, and discipleship in more saints.
Bless our All-Church Camp, because what is sweet to you is not the words
we use, but the decisions of heart we make. That is the incense, the essence and
aroma of sweet spicesa golden vial full of fragrance in our life.
It is a spiritual essence we strive for this summer. A subtle knowledge of
your presence that causes everyone around to confess your power among us! Do
this because Jesus is worthy and we ask it in his name. Amen.

Psa. 108:1 O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praise, even with my glory.
O God, My Father:
Sometimes I have to climb the ladder of prayer to praise you. Other times I
have to praise you first for the past, in order to be able to pray in faith for the
present and future. By the help of your Spirit today, I can either pray myself up to
praise, or praise myself into a proper frame of mind for prayer!
Let me determine to magnify you with a steadfast heart. Many times I use
the same words over and over to draw near. Because while you cannot endure
vain repetitions, I know you also despise vain variations. Some phrases are so
useful I just have to use them again. I dont throw away a cup just because I
drank from it once, and so I preserve the best words to use again to praise you.
Psa. 108:13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our
enemies.
Sometimes the future of a nation seems to hang on the prayers of one
person! It is easy for me to pray for the Lords people, because your heart is
already set on doing them good. But it is serious work to pray when I feel like my
city and society depends on what you intend to do through my prayer.
You made great promises to David, and your holiness guaranteed them. For
this reason David prays as if the blessing is already received. Help me begin my
prayer claiming your promises, and then I can do the same.
Your help to me will inspire help to others. And since faith is never fearful
or lazy, I pray to you, great King, for great things. If prayer and praise precede the
battle, I know I can expect heroic deeds and decisive victories. For this reason I
pray before the pastor preaches (and even to help aid him preach!). Let me use
the power of God, and see the glory of your work this weekend. Amen.

HOW TO BUILD A BALANCED LIFE

THIS WEEKS EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

PRAYER DIARY

TIMEWORSHIP

Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)

TITHEWORK

1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)

TEAMWORD

Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

QUALITY CHRISTIANITY INVOLVES THREE THINGS

Keeping Christ at the center (your core relationship of worship to God)

Keeping the body of Christ a priority (your congregational relationship of

INSTRUCTIONS:

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.
Alan

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
