Contract : MANGALORE REFINERY AND PETROCHEMICALS LTD. (MRPL)
Role : PIPING ENGINEER.
Duration : JULY 2010 to till date

Responsibilities :
- Supervising pre-commissioning activities such as hydro testing, water flushing, air
and steam blowing, re-instatement.
- Identifying equipment location as per general arrangement drawing and prepare
layout and measurement. Check installed piping components as per P & ID.
- To carry out reinstatement of piping and report preparation like installation of
valves, remove temporary piping, remove temporary valve, remove blind, insert
original gaskets, install plug or cap at discharge point if removed, install the mesh
of strainer.
- To check and prepare orifice flange inspection and pipe flange alignment report.
- Line checking, punch listing &clearing.
- Inspection of Instruments installed in Pipe lines are control valves, temperature
transmitter, pressure transmitter, flow measuring differential transmitter, rotary
equipments etc.
- To ensure that all method statements & procedures, installation manuals and ITPs
related to mechanical and piping works comply with project specifications, local
regulations and meet the requirements of international codes and standards.
- To supervise fabrication and erection of pipe spools and pipe supports as per
latest issued for construction drawings and ensure that project specifications and
standard codes were correctly executed.
- To prepare the documents for the QC activities and Test Packages. Updating all QC
activities and prepare the Test Packages Status and Progress reports.
- Preparation of internal punch list and clearance inspection during fabrication. Coordination with civil/ construction departments for testing/ backfilling activities.
- Maintaining of all inspection report and related documents in QA/QC department,
Co-coordinating with main contractor, third party and client.
- To perform Inspection, approval of fit-ups & welded joints and dimensional as per
isometric and specifications.
- To perform welding inspection to ensure that all welding activities are properly
executed.
DUTIES ANS RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Interpretation of drawings and guiding the contractors to execute the work.
- Checking fit ups, arranging the resource.
- Selection and Issue of require materials as per the Drawing and codes
- Selection of standard Supports and fabrication of the same as per the drawing.
- Resolution of site problems and requests.
- Ensure that the work is carried out as per standards, drawings, maintaining
quality & safety
- Make necessary piping execution documents.
- Supervise the work and give necessary clarifications to contractors as required.
- Make day-to-day planning and monitor the progress at site.

- Arrange stage wise inspection as required and get clearance from competent
authority.
- Scrutinize contractors bills and submit to Site In charge.
- Arranging the activities like welders qualification test, hydro testing, pneumatic
testing etc.
- Responsible for materials follow-up for continuous supply and smooth fabrication
as well as erection.
- Appraise the Client about progress and quality of work.
- Follow up of all non conformance reports (NCRs).
- Preparation of site engineering requests (SER).
- Preparation of inspection test packs and getting punch list clearance.
