REMEDIAL
Waterproofing, a process designed to prevent water from penetrating a structure, is typically done in
various layers and stages to create multiple barriers and prevent water from penetrating the structure.
A combination of such stages is referred to as creating a Building Envelope.
However, most often, not enough importance is given to this very crucial aspect while constructing
new structures. Over reliance on conventional and outdated systems, low awareness about modern
waterproofing systems and lack of trained expertise for application are some of the prime reasons.
Dr. Fixit has a wide range of innovative systems solution to address waterproofing needs by surface area.
It not only recommends the right system but also invests significantly in educating professionals and
upgrading the workmanship of the applicators.
In the pursuit of spreading awareness, Dr. Fixit has launched an App that gives waterproofing details
at fingertips. The Dr. Fixit App keeps professionals and users updated with the latest from the arena of
waterproofing and propagates the right practice of application.
In addition, the newly launched Dr. Fixit Experience Centre at Chennai, the first of many, furthers
the cause of training and knowledge enhancement. It is a unique space that connects architects,
consultants, builders and contractors and facilitates the exploration and adoption of modern and latest
waterproofing solutions. It aims at highlighting and executing cutting-edge technology in waterproofing
systems all year round.

Protect steel reinforcement bars with Dr. Fixit Epoxy Zinc Primer.
Use Dr. Fixit Epoxy Bonding agent for repair of RCC wall,
underside of the slab.
Methodology
Methodology
SURFACE PREPARATION
1. Mark out the area to be taken up for concrete repair and mechanically cut to a depth into the concrete well
behind the re-bars so that the micro-concrete can be placed effectively over a treatment with the suitable
bonding agent.
2. Coat the steel reinforcement bars with a single component Zinc Primer as cathodic protection.
2. Drill holes 5 cm in 45o angle staggered on either side along the crack using a drilling
machine, at intervals of 6 to 9 inches.
3. Affix a non-return type of injection ports / nozzles in these holes with fast-setting
epoxy putty and let it dry for about 2 to 3 days.
APPLICATION
1. U
se Dr. Fixit Epoxy Bonding Agent for an area over 10 sq. ft. of concrete repair in the underside of slab or
repair of the RCC wall.
4. Also, seal the crack between the ports with epoxy putty.
2. For other general repairs, use Dr. Fixit Pidicrete MPB, an acrylic bonding agent, by applying it neatly over a
pre-wetted surface.
5. In cases where the crack is wider than 2 mm up to 4 to 5 mm, drill holes at the sides
of the crack in a staggered fashion as shown in the picture, at intervals of 6 inches
and affix them with epoxy putty as mentioned above.
3. After this dries, the cut area can be applied with Dr. Fixit Micro Concrete or Dr. Fixit Repair Mortar.
6. Also, seal the face of crack with a liberal application of the epoxy putty.
4. After the repair mortar sets, apply Dr. Fixit Raincoat (any choice of colour) as a waterproofing or if required
for as anti-carbonation coating use Dr. Fixit Concrete Guard WB as a protective coating.
1 Rebar
2 Zinc Primer
9. Pumping can stop once the pressure is felt and no more epoxy resin can be injected.
10. Allow the resin to set for at least 7 full days, while it will harden and cure the crack.
5 Dr. FixitRaincoat or
Dr. Fixit Concrete Guard WB
11. Over-painting or coating can be done on the concrete after the ports have been
cut and removed, and the epoxy seal putty is ground off with a rotary scrubbing
machine for surface preparation.

SURFACE PREPARATION
PU Injection technology comprising of two categories in single and two component are available.
All areas marked as honeycombs and big voids will be filled and densified with this
treatment. The appropriate injection equipment as advised by the Dr. Fixit technical
team should be used to inject the Pagel ZL 10 ultra-fine injection, which is supplied in a
dry powder form. Right amount of water must be added (i.e. 0.4 to 0.5 w/c ratio) that
will make the ZL 10 mixture extremely fluid.
a) Dr. Fixit Drip Plug: Reacts with water to expand and gel forming a barrier to water in stagnant and mild
leakage conditions.
b) Dr. Fixit PU Foam injection: Foams to displace the water from cracks and voids in a structure in heavy
leakage, high water pressure conditions as a temporary water-stop.
c) Dr. Fixit PU Plain injection: Permanent polyurethane sealing injection used in conjunction with PU
Foam or individually.
Methodology
Surface Preparation and Application
1. Inject all crack and voids identified properly for heavy/stagnant water leakages and accordingly use two/
single component PU Injection.
2. F
ix injection packers in the leakage areas after proper drilling of holes and cleaning with blower. Then fix
the injection packers for pumping the single /two component PU Injection.
3. Injection packers to be fixed correctly at the leakage source to avoid back pressure. Sealing of packers to
ensure back pressure loss is avoided, cementitious compound/fast set epoxy to be applied.
4. Now inject Dr. Fixit PU injection as a single component or two component as a system.( Dr. Fixit PU Foam
is used for high pressure active leakages but as a temporary stoppage. Thereafter you can use Dr. Fixit
PU Plain or Dr. Fixit Drip Plug.)
5. Complete injecting into all the ports.
6. Over the few hours, the water leakage will get arrested and stop leaking through the cracks or voids.
7. W
ater may leak from adjacent weaker structure locations which should be injected for complete
treatment.

SURFACE PREPARATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
1. Remove the existing POP or painters putty till the plaster surface is exposed.
2. Remove all the existing paint, pop, painters putty, etc. completely from the surface till the cement sand
plastered surface is exposed with the help of suitable tools.
3. Ensure to chip off an additional 2 sq. ft. area on all four sides of the affected damp area.
APPLICATION
2. Allow it to dry in ambient conditions for 5 to 6 hours before painting for best
results. A 7-day air curing is advised.
1. Add 25-30% water to Dr. Fixit Wonderproof 1 to make a slurry coating and apply over the entire surface.
3. Apply the second coat of Dr. Fixit Wonderproof 1 in a perpendicular direction to the first coat and allow it
to dry for 4 hours. In case of severe dampness a third coat of Dr. Fixit Wonderproof 1 is recommended.
2. Allow the first coat of Dr. Fixit Wonderproof 1 to dry for 4 to 6 hours.

1. Cut open and clean cracks in the existing screed or Brickbat coba systems
with compressed air.
2. Repair these cracks with polymer modified mortar modified with Dr. Fixit
Pidicrete URP.
3. Clean the surface thoroughly of all contaminants like dust, traces of curing
compound, oil and grease. Remove all surface imperfections, protrusions,
structurally unsound and loose concrete.
4. Prime the surface with Dr. Fixit Primeseal and allow it to dry. Apply the first
coat of Dr. Fixit Newcoat.
5. While it is still wet, place a woven glass fibre mesh of measurements 2 mm x 2
mm and allow it to soak completely. Immediately apply the second coat with a
roller or squeeze, to ensure complete coverage of the fibre mesh.
6. Apply the third coat after 6 to 8 hrs, once the second coat is dry.
* For roofs below 2000 sq. ft., one can also use 2 coats of Dr. Fixit Newcoat
Ezee.
