RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Louis Haynie was a student in his senior year attending Leadership Academey in
Albany High School who was killed in a senseless act of violence in September 2015 in which
he played no part except unfortunate victim; and,
WHEREAS, during his high school years Louis Haynie had demonstrated great perseverance in
working diligently towards completing the necessary credits to earn his high school diploma in
June 2016 and who also demonstrated the best of personal values in terms of friendships,
compassion for others, and relationships with his teachers and other professional staff members
at Albany High School; and,
WHEREAS, the Interim Superintendent of Schools, Albany High School administration, and
professional staff who interacted with Louis all recommend that his legacy of effort,
perseverance, and compassion be recognized with an Honorary Diploma from Albany High
School.
IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, upon the recommendation of the Interim Superintendent of
Schools, the Board of Education of the City School District of Albany does hereby grant and
award to Louis Haynie an Honorary Diploma from Albany High School.
