 GEMSTONE
INSPIRATION
The unique allure of precious stones glimmers in all its charming glory in the Gemstone series, the
origins of which lie in the desire to create a stylish project able to reflect the superb lines, intense
colours and multi-faceted beauty of the rarest of gems. From the full-bodied green of the emerald
through the blinding blue hues of turquoise to the white veins which intersect the sapphires, each
individual detail affords movement to the beguilingly-beautiful surface of a sophisticated, distinctive
product.
The movement created by the veins and the chromatic effects differs from one piece to another,
giving the product the extraordinary natural appearance typical of natural stones, without losing
anything of the overall colour effect, thus guaranteeing those pleasant sensations of harmony and
balance which combine with striking shading to make the Gemstone series suitable for the most
exclusive of living spaces: an extraordinarily modern, up-to-the-minute interpretation of a classical
style – something we might like to define “new classical” or “contemporary classical”.

PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGY
The Gemstone series is created using coloured body porcelain stoneware created using “Continua”
technology, a process which allows the ceramic product to acquire all the features typical of natural
stone: uniqueness of texture, colour and size. This particular production technique ensures that the
end product is so varied in appearance that it is never repetitive, giving it, in addition, a distinctive
mirrored surface. The thickness of the glazing material also creates a depth which was never before
possible; while an innovative post-production technique confers a further exclusive feature: the fact
that the series is so easy to clean and remains unaltered in the kind of areas where polished products
are not normally found.
The Gemstone series is also defined by the use of Ink Jet technology, able to create unique base tiles
with perfectly-defined, high colour quality veining which creates a marvellous sense of movement
and fascinating light reflections. Ink-Jet technology makes it possible to create unique effects on every
single piece, a superb method of shading which is scientifically controlled in order not to adversely
affect the overall proportions and to define the movement of colour so effectively as to make the
graphic details absolutely perfect.

 MATERIE
Inspiration
Design research, the study of new lines and a careful look at ways in which to re-interpret minimalist
styles: this is what lies behind the Materie series, a creatively avant-garde product which combines
neutral shades such as white, beige, grey and black with particularly linear geometries, exalting the
artistic and figurative verve of strong, contrasting colours such as sky-blue and orange, used together
with three-dimensional decorations.
A journey through the diversity of styles with light effects, reliefs and combined architectures,
affording a touch of class to a versatile product able to enhance the most rigorous and essential of
rooms or soften the most sophisticated environments.
Also thanks to its large sizes, Materie makes it possible to create almost perfect continuity between
floors and walls, offering a smooth material effect and a sense of a surface smoothed with a spatula,
an look which until now could only be obtained with other materials such as resins. The Materie
series gives a whole new lease of life to continuous surfaces, thanks to the particular technical and
aesthetic features of ceramics (easy of cleaning, bend-resistance, scratch-resistance etc.).

Production technology
The Materie series is composed of large-size coloured body porcelain stoneware tiles, decorated with
mixed technology, i.e. both mass-decorated and using dry applications. This technology ensures that
the tiles are uniquely resistant, because of the compacting and penetration of the coloured layers,
which makes the series so attractive and so reliable that it is classified as a “Top of the Range”
product. The production process also creates a fresco-style surface, a visible softness which intensifies
the shades of the striking, highly-sophisticated colours selected for the base tiles.

Use
Materie is suitable for floors and walls in both homes and commercial premises. It has the same look
and potential of “resin” – which often characterises the concept of a single, continuous surface without
joints – but at the same offers all the advantages of ceramics. A particularly attractive look is obtained
by sealing Materia with grouts of the same colour as the tile. The decorations combine in a variety
of creative ways with the base tiles, with the simple colour contrast creating a designer look which is
perfect for strikingly beautiful, modern, richly stylish environments. Materie is versatile enough to be
used for both walls and floors throughout the home, from the bathroom to the kitchen, and is also
suitable for giving a decorative touch to walls and floors in the living room. Outside the home, Materie is

 MONOLITH
Inspiration
Monolith is a synthetic rock create by re-interpreting Porphyry, an effusive volcanic rock which thanks
to its particular characteristics was widely used by the Etruscans and the Romans both for artwork
and for building. Today Monolith by Marazzi brings together the characteristic features of a powerful,
age-old mineral with the advantages of highly-technical, hard wearing, versatile ceramics. Presented in
three versions – bush hammered, matt and brushed – the potent material nature of Monolith renders
it not only hard wearing, reliable and durable, but also stylish and sophisticated, with its brushed
surfaces, the three dimensional shape of the decorations and the delicate, graceful lines. Decidedly
versatile, naturally creative and timelessly elegant, with a variety of natural shades ranging from white
to black: this is a distinctive product whose origins lie in the purity and strength of natural materials.

Production technology
Full body porcelain stoneware with two types of textured punches of different depths, created using
“Continua” technology. The compacting and penetration of the coloured layers is carried out in a
way similar to geological phenomena, thus giving the ceramic product all the characteristics typical
of natural stone, i.e. unique structure, colour and dimensions. “Continua” technology is able to
reproduce a rich, diverse array of original looks and decorative effects, and the products it creates
therefore boast excellent structural qualities – they are slabs rather than tiles, which can be as large as
60x120 cm and remain unchanged over time.
In these full body slabs, the substance is spread throughout the thickness and not only on the surfaces
as is the case for standard glazed tiles. There is therefore no risk of deterioration, and Monolith is
so hard wearing that it can be laid anywhere. “Continua” technology also has an extremely low
environmental impact, because the whole production process is dry, and it does not therefore produce
ceramic slurry or non-recyclable waste.

Depending on the surface (bush hammered, matt or brushed) each colour features refraction effects
and shades typical of natural rock.

3 types of decorations can be applied to the Monolith base tile:
• “Onda”. tile size 30x60 cm (actual dimensions 297x597 mm; minimal size of Onda decoration 19 mm;
maximum size of Onda decoration 41 mm). This is an extremely innovative type of decoration, created
exclusively for Marazzi and obtained by cutting the material into strips and then applying the strips to a
shaped plate with wavy surfaces. Available in all colours, the product is delivered ready for laying.
• “Modulo di riposo Onda” obtained by cutting the base tile. Compatible with “Onda” decoration.
Available in all colours, the product is delivered ready for laying.
• “Muretto 3D”, size 30x60 cm (actual dimensions 297.5x595 mm, actual dimensions of outside
edge 297.5x644.7 mm): created in square and rectangular shapes obtained from base tiles of various
thicknesses mounted on irregular relief fibre glass. Shimming the base tile gives the decoration a split
stone look. Available in all colours.
• “Bicromia”, size 30x30 cm (actual dimensions 296.5x296.5 mm): hydrojet technology is used to
create the decoration by making swallow tail cuts in the natural base tile in such a way as to replicate
an asymmetrical zebra pattern in laying, i.e. with discontinuous lines between the pieces. The pieces are
assembled using a mesh-backed technique. Available in black-wengé and black-grey.

Use
All three versions – bush hammered, matt and brushed – offer features which make them ideal for
laying anywhere (indoors and outdoors, for homes and commercial premises). The soft brushed
surfaces also make Monolith suitable for top-quality indoor floors and walls, which can be enhanced
by a series of three-dimensional decorations which are particularly reminiscent of the structure and the
natural lines of Porphyry stone. Perfect for paving large public areas such as hotel foyers, shopping
centres, airports, squares, etc. Monolith tiles are rectified, and are therefore suitable for jointless laying.

Inspiration
The allure of a timeless city. The elegance of an age of opulence. The harmony of a rich, sophisticated
style. All the splendour and the fascinating history of the French capital are reflected in Paris, a product
whose regal lines, iridescent surfaces and soft colours transmit the magnificent, seductive ambience
of the “Ville Lumière”. The variety of forms makes Paris a versatile product which is able to carve
out a space for itself in areas which until today were dominated by other decorative solutions such
as wall paper and boiserie. Ideal for those who favour a classical, “Belle époque” style, Paris is also
very much open to modern, even minimalist influences, and is thus suitable to meet a wide range of
requirements ranging from a retrò look to contemporary design. The Paris series lends itself to an array
of modern reinterpretations, without ever reneging on its superbly-classical elegance.

Production technology
Paris tiles are of the single-fired, white body variety. During the manufacturing phase the product is
shaped with 4 different punches which create 4 different surfaces: two striped surfaces, one which
recalls Capitonné padding and one reminiscent of Boiserie wood panelling. The glazes which are later
applied give depth to the tiles, conferring superbly-attractive satin finishes with delicately shimmering
effects.

Straight is a remarkable blend of styles in which the light effects are initially suffused with a series

the application of a glossy grit and a modern texture characterised by polychrome speckles – superb

Agorà takes a journey through classic themes, giving them a classy new look. A collection of natural
stones and marbles which blend into one unique style featuring Baroque, Neo-classical, Liberty and
Romantic influences. Agorà captures all the allure of marble, breathing life into a new creation which
is fashionable yet timeless: expressive, strikingly beautiful and able to suit contemporary lines and the
most modern of tastes. Stripes, flowers and damask patterns adorn a series of eight different ways to
interpret stone and marble: from pink marble to Carrara marble through to Onice Agorà is designed

Production Technology
Agorà is created using white body single-fired tiles. This technology makes it possible to create an
excellent base to underline the light reflections, enhance the transparencies and exalt the colours,
thus obtaining a soft surface with natural translucent overtones. Agorà’s characteristic white base
is modelled in two variants, one smooth and the other vertically textured (striped), in order to
render the applications more attractive and versatile. The product is also the fruit of one of the most
innovative new production techniques in ceramics: Ink-jet.
Ink-Jet technology is a system in which the glaze is applied on the tile without a direct contact with
the surface. This makes it possible to print graphic motifs on any type of texture of base tiles or
decorations, creating a smooth, three-dimensional cover of the decorative space and perfectly-precise
distribution of the glazes. Moreover, the graphics created using Ink-jet technology make it possible
to create original, perfectly-defined and detailed motifs able to make every single tile unique while
maintaining a profound chromatic proportion. The infinite range of nuances and chromatic effects
which derive from Ink-Jet applications render the products both unique and top-quality.

 COTTO ANTICO
Inspiration
Cotto Antico is a warm, inviting flooring material available in a number of colour variants, designed
for those who feel at ease in a traditional Italian-style home: a home which is welcoming, stylish
and genuine, never banal. The colour combinations in the series make this product equally suitable
for country-style environments and for modern, contemporary homes and buildings; in the latter
case it must of course be given an essential, minimalist interpretation. Cotto Antico is available in
three colours: the classic Beige and Rosso and the new Marrone, conceived for more contemporary
solutions.
There are two sizes of tiles in the series: the classic 33.3x33.3 and the traditional 16.5x33.3, both
press-moulded. Press-moulding is a production technique adopted here for the first time by Marazzi,
making it possible to create an exceptionally attractive series of tiles. The 16.5x33.3 size – known
in the trade as “tavella” – is perfect for creating the classic Italian-style floors, the most common
patterns of which are herringbone and shipdeck. The Cotto Antico series also features a number
of distinctive finishing elements, such as the 33.3x333 cm module composed of insets (16.5x16.5
cm) with bevelled corners and enhanced by tiny little cubes in green transparent frit, or the mosaic
hexagon which brings out the fully beauty and colour of the product and makes it easy to apply to
walls, creating a cosy, welcoming environment.

Production Technology
Cotto Antico is a flooring product created using glazed porcelain stoneware technology. The superb
material quality of this product is enhanced using a textured punch which makes it possible to add
emphasis to the stylish, antique effect surfaces. The Cotto Antico series is rendered even more
appealing by the glazing applied with the Silicon Vertical technology, which gives the product a rich,
absolutely natural shading.

The Soft series is a sophisticated blend of sober colours, soft surfaces and elegant decorations with
a touch of class. Amid roses and striking geometric designs, Soft is both distinguished and modern,
affording a delicate touch with the paler shades and a more decisive look with the darker colour
options – an up-to-date series with two sides to it: the classic look of the glossy base tile and a more
contemporary touch conferred by the solid colour textured and satin-finished options.

Production technology
Soft wall tiles are single-fired white body tiles, while glazed porcelain stoneware is used for the floor
tiles. Soft’s characteristic white body is available in two variants, one matt and one with a striped
texture, which creates an ideal base to bring out the surface effects to the fullest. The glazes applied
to both the wall and floor tiles create delicate, bright colours exalted by the semi-glossy, satin-
finished effects.
