Summer Bridge will consist of two weeks
Culture Week
Instructional Week
August 1-4 - Culture Week
August 8-11 - Instructional Week

What to wear and bring?


Bring a positive attitude
Be ready to learn as well as have a great time
Wear pants, jeans, or shorts. School T-shirts will
be provided
Shoes that you dont mind getting dirty
Suntan/block lotion if your skin burns easily

Overnight Experience!!
Wednesday August 3 - Thursday August 4
On Wednesday we will have an overnight experience.
Tents and sleeping bags secured through REI
Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner will be provided
On Thursday afternoon, the students will depart Sandy Spring
after lunch and return to drop off location by 2:30 PM.
Students and Staff will sleep in tents on camp grounds
Two Students per tent

Needs for Wednesday Night


Toiletries (Soap, Toothbrush, Toothpaste,
Deodorant, etc)
Wash Cloth
Towel
Shower Shoes
Clean set of clothes for the next day

Schedule for Instructional Week


Students will go (on their own) each day to Emery
Professional Development Center- 1720 1st St. NE,
Washington, DC 20002 (near McKinley
Tech/NOMA Gallaudet Metro).
The doors will open every day for breakfast at
8:00 AM. Students are expected to be in the
doors by 8:25 AM.
We will dismiss after lunch, approximately 1:00
PM every day. Again, breakfast and lunch will be
provided each day.
