St. Aloysius College

Jabalpur
INTRODUCTION

St Aloysius College was founded in 1951 and is situated in the

Jabalpur Cantonment area. The College is named after St. Aloysius
Gonzaga, the Patron Saint of the college, who harbored a burning
desire to serve God and his fellowmen. College provides courses on
arts, commerce, science and management disciplines. St. Aloysius
College bestowed two National Awards among all the Christian
Colleges in the country in 2001.

History Of St.Aloysius College

Drawing inspiration from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ,
who came into this world that we may have life and life in
abundance (Jn. 10:10) and that we may learn to live as children of
one loving Father, the Foundation Society made a meager
beginning by starting St. Aloysius College in 1951, in a small room
of the school building with only ten students and Rev. Fr. H.van

Englen OPraem as its Founder Principal. A year later, the English

Medium classes in Arts and Science commenced as the college was
affiliated to the Saugor University. In 1953, the Arts Faculty was
bestowed Degree Status and the Science Faculty in 1956. This was
the result of the tireless striving of Fr. H. van. Engelen, the then
Principal.

INTRODUCTION OF STRESS
What is Stress?
Stress is the emotional and physical strain caused by our response to
pressure from the outside world. Common stress reactions include
tension, irritability, inability to concentrate, and a variety of physical
symptoms that include headache and a fast heartbeat.
It's almost impossible to live without some stress. And most of us
wouldn't want to, because it gives life some spice and excitement. But
if stress gets out of control, it may harm your health, your
relationships, and your enjoyment of life.
Examples of "overload" situations are common in today's world:

You and your spouse both work full time while you are raising
your family. At the same time, your parents are retired, in ill
health, and are dependent on your help with shopping and
running errands.

You are a single person living alone, and your salary isn't rising
as fast as the rate of inflation. It's getting harder each month to
pay the bills.

You are a divorced parent and share the custody of your

children with your former spouse. But the friction between the
two of you on matters concerning the children is becoming more
bitter and more frequent.

The

expectations

and

competition

at

your

workplace

is

becoming fierce. You find yourself coming in early, staying late,

and taking on more work than you can handle.

STRESS MANAGEMENT
A lot of research has been conducted into stress over the last hundred
years. Some of the theories behind it are now settled and accepted;
others are still being researched and debated. During this time, there
seems to have been something approaching open warfare between
competing theories and definitions: Views have been passionately held
and aggressively defended.

AT INDIVIDUAL LEVEL
The optimum level of stress at individual level may differ from person
to person. An individual should identify the unrelieved stress and
should try to manage it. The following steps can be taken to manage
the stress.
1. Learn to Plan.
2. Recognize and Accept Limits.
3. Have Fun. Give yourself a break.
4. Be a Positive Person. Avoid criticizing others.
5. Learn to Tolerate and Forgive..
6. Avoid Unnecessary Competition.

AT ORGANISATIONAL LEVEL
1. Recognize Your Role
2. Find Outlets for Stress
3. Keep a Positive Perspective
4. Watch Your Words

Objective of Study
1. GENERAL OBJECTIVE- The main object of preparing this
project is to reduce the stress level to a greater extent of staff
members. As I am from educational field and I have been
working since 2001 in this sector. I feel that it would be great
opportunity for me to study this subject and give suggestions to
reduce the stress level in educational organization.

2. PRIMARY OBJECTIVE- The primary objective is to conduct

this research is find out the ways to lower the stress in higher
education. We can easily reduce the level of stress by separating
our professional and personal life.

3. SECONDRY OBJECTIVE- The secondary objective is to analyze

the organizational structure, HRP (Human Resource Planning),
HRD (Human Resource Development) of educational institutes
and suggest

some remedies

for

brining

up the

healthy

environment for employees.

Research Methodology
This study will be based on survey and analysis of St. Aloysius College
Jabalpur. The data will be collected by personal direct interviews of
Professors. Secondary data such as published work, reports and all
the relevant data will be collected from management and website as
well.
Data collections are very important process in the
collection of data. Data collection is important topic from statistics

chapter of mathematics subject. A data collection is any information

collects from some person or any kind of news. Datas are collecting
from various methods with the help of data collection tools. Here we
have to explain brief about the data collection methods help
explanations.

Types of Data and Data Collection Methods

1. Primary data:
The primary data is the data, which is collected data from the
first hand information. And it is published by an organization for some
purposes. This data is mostly pure and original datas.
2. Secondary data:
The secondary data is the data, which is collected data from
the second hand information. It means the given data is already
collected from any one or any other persons for any other purpose,
and it is available for the present issues. And mostly these secondary
datas are not relevant and pure datas.

Expected Outcome
This study is conducted to survey the educational organizations and
reduce the stress level among the staff of organization. It will suggest
some ways and measures to reduce the stress level of employees. It
will help to develop the performance of Professors and staff in an
organization.

Limitations

1) TIME This project will be prepared on the

basis of research work. But due to the shortage of
time constraint the sample will be taken from one
college St.Aloysuis College Sadar Jabalpur. Due to
this there may slight variation in the findings of this
research project from real situation.

2) SIZE- The data will be taken from the staff

and employees of other

department of college.

But it is not possible to give the complete details of

data. The size of the project will be small in
comparison to the total number of Professors in
St.Aloysuis College Sadar Jabalpur.

3) ATTITUDE- Although respondents will answer

properly. But due to heavy load of work, it will be
not possible for them to respond freely. So there will
be less number of respondents interviewed.
