Total deaths : 2 male 1 female

Adherence level : was = or > 95 % ( required for anti HIV drugs to control infection) In all
but who had died .

NOTE : '' All the patients 89 patients --74 patients have been referred to me and 15
patients came to me on their own and all patients were put on Anti tubercular
Therapy /medicines (ATT) apart from the fact that they all are on already ART (Anti Retro
viral therapy -medicines for AIDS)--meaning thereby -all patients were on medicines for
AIDS (to be taken for life) and medicines for TB (to be taken for 6 months only ) -number
of pills daily increased for 6 months (till ART and ATT are both being given) and still their
adherence for both the diseases' medicines remained > 95 % except the patients who
died .''
This factor is to be considered while deducing the results
SINGLE CASE RESEARCH (case history)
A Hindu male aged about 36 years ( driver by profession) old got HIV through his sister- in -law (bhabhi)
whom he married after the death of his elder brother (drive by profession) .He was seen by me in critical
condition ( in PCP Pneumocystis pneumonia ) .He was admitted and treated .He became well ,was put on anti
AIDS medicines --ART (Anti retroviral therapy)After the initiation of ART he started feeling better , put on
weight resumed his profession ,but lost to follow up. He resurfaced again after 5 years with multiple illnesses
including TB and hepatitis Band eye problems. Upon taking history it was revealed that he has been treated by
so many doctors even by a cardiologist with having no cardiac problems but nobody gave him ART though his
adherence level was always a suspect Naturally he was without ART all these five years with false notion that
he was cured of HIV I again started treated treatment and while he showed improvement id CD 4 cells , his
viral load never dropped much , so I suspected him a failure case In the mean time his liver started to
deteriorate and went into cryptococcal meningitis I got him admitted to higher centres (kolkata) for treatment
as there was no facility to treat him over here as it required ICU setup and repeated lumbar punctures
.Unfortunately he died there for various complications
