Event/Behavior
1. What took place or prompted the journal?
When I was in Ecuador I have a difficult trip as I havent prepared nothing
beforehand. In the beginning I was thinking about not coming as many people had
told me that it was too easy for me. I have faced a lot of test for having my
membership to the ministry of education, in the end I was denied my right to have a
stable job, so after struggling a lot I decided to come forced by the circumstances,
for that I waited until the last minute.
Feelings
2. How does the event/ behavior make me feel?
Lordliness
overestimated
disorganization
Thoughts
3. What do I think about the event/behavior that is focus of the journal?
I remember my possibilities of not travelling since people told me that it was too
low for my level, so I feel myself overestimated and put the other people down
before even knowing them. I thought that If I had gotten the scholarship the
government of Ecuador would do everything easy for us, then I started to do all the
process in a disorganized way, I didnt know when to start, how to do it and what to
have. Even the emails that were sent to me I didnt have the willingness to read
them all.
Learnings:
4. Step one: Assumption Checking
I assume that People made that I was the cream of the crop as in my place I
was the winner of the membership and I didnt need it to come because I
have B2 level.
A potential bias I had was that I was thinking that I had everything under
control just because I won the scholarship.
sometimes end up making you feel bad, because of envy they have about people
success.
Step 2
Professional Growing
Finally, as teachers we are always asking the students to prepare everything
beforehand, for instance, to have their materials checked at night in order to not
forget them, during the professional practice as teacher I also have to remember to
clearly state that it is not always a good idea to tell someone else about the good
news that you have. In my class I will teach them to plan an activity and alto to
prepare strategies to help people each other, for example a checklist of his plans.
