Biography
Erwin Schrodinger was born on August 12, 1887, in Vienna, Austria. Erwin Schrodinger
is the only child of Rudolf Schrodinger and Georgine Emilia Brenda. His father was a chemistry
student of Professor Alexander Bauer, Erwin Schrodingers grandfather at the Technical College
of Vienna (Technische Hochschule Vienna). He was the business owner of an oil factory. Erwin
Schrodinger is an Austrian Theoretical Physicist, the hair of Bavarian family line who developed
physical equation; it is now called Schrodingers equation. His father family line has been
generated even before the settle of Vienna.

Erwin Schrodinger married with his wife, Annemarie Bertel for twice. At the first time,
they were married on March 20, 1920, in a Catholic ceremony in Annys local Parish. On the
second time, they were married on April 6, 1920, in an Evangelical church. Erwin Schrodinger
never had a child or children with Annemarie Bertel, but he did have a daughter with his
mistress, Mrs. Hildgunde March who used to be a wife of Arthur March, the theoretical
physicist. Erwin Schrodingers only child named Ruth Georgie Erica.
Schrodinger had a dormant disease which had been appearing with for a long time but it
attacked him on May 1960 till his death on January 4, 1961, at 7 p.m. with his wife on his side in
Vienna, Austria, his hometown where he was born. He was laid to the rest in Alpbach on January
9, 1961.

Technical Achievement
In Erwin Schrodingers early life, he used to have a private-studied at home from the
beginning until his 11 years old. After that, he became a student of Vienna's Akademisches
Gymnasium. Then he attended to be a student of the University of Vienna in 1906. While he was
studying at the University of Vienna, he was studying with young physicist, Fritz Hasenohrl.
Therefore, he was influenced by him.
Erwin Schrodinger graduated from the University of Vienna with a Ph.D. in physics in
1910. He worked at the institution as an assistant for a few year before he was drafted to be an
Austro-Hungarian in Italy as an artillery officer during World War One, in 1914. After the end of
World War One, he came back to Vienna. Erwin Schrodinger was taking a number of faculty and
staff positions at the University of Stuttgart, the University of Breslau before he joined the
University of Zurich in 1921, but left it in 1927. Then Erwin Schrodinger joined the University
of Berlin in the same year where he met Albert Einstien. Erwin Schrodinger was developing his
equation which is now called Schrodingers equation on 1924, and he introduced it on 1925.
Schrodingers equation is the fundamental equation which describes quantum mechanical
behavior. Most of the time, the equation has been being called the Schrodinger wave equation.

The Schrodinger equation is the equation which is functioning on how the wave function
on a physical system in classical mechanics, the predicting of the future behavior of a dynamic
system. It takes the role significantly on Newtons laws and the conversation of energy. Erwin
Schrodinger shared the 1933 Nobel Prize in Physics with Paul Dirac, the British physicist who
contribute atomic theory.

Erwin Schrodinger published his first influenced book in 1944, What is life? It is
literature that describes the Physicist how he aspect about Living Cell and the discovery of DNA.
What is life? is one of the most popular and successful science classic literature during the time
which was written mainly for the layman. At the time, it was sold more than 100,000 peace.
Another published literature of him is Nature and the Greeks in 1954. It is mostly mentioned in
the philosophy and history of science and world. My View of the World is the last famous
literature of Erwin Schrodinger. He had published it in 1961. My View of the World is a
summarization of his philosophical views on the nature of the world that stimulate on how
Schrodinger wins the Nobel Prize on the contribution of an atomic theory.

focusing on "how can the events in space and time which take place within the spatial boundary
of a living organism be accounted for by physics and chemistry?" Nature and the Greeks
represents historical scientific world picture. My View of the World is a summarizer of his

Annemarie Bertel was born on December 31, 1896. She is the second daughter of Eduard
Bertal, an actor, prosperous photographer and industrialist in Salzburg, Austria. She died on
October 3, 1965, and buried with her husband in the Alpbacher Friedhof, in Alpbach Kufstein
District, Tirol, Austria.

Albert Einstien
Albert Einstien is the German physicist, the founder of the relative theory and the most
influential physicist of the 20th century. He was born in Ulm, Wurttemberg, Germany in 1879. He
published four papers in the Annalen der Physik. One is well known as Physics journal of the
era. All four of them are mainly focusing on the photoelectric effect, Brownian motion, the
special theory of relativity and the matter/energy relationship. Albert Einstien who came up with
the equation of E = mc2. It is the suggestion about the small particles of matter which could be
transformed into a large amount of energy. He had done the general theory in 1915. Then he won
the Nobel Prize for physics in the photoelectric affecting and immigration to the U.S. in 1921. In
1939, President Franklin D. Roosevelt, the president of U.S. was alerted by Einstien and his
fellow physicist, Leo Szilard in the possibility of Nazi bomb to stimulate U.S to create their own
nuclear weapon.

Paul Dirac
Paul Dirac is the British physicist, the partner of Schrodinger who cooperated with him to
create Schrodingers equation. Paul Dirac and Erwin Schrodinger shared their Noble prize on
1933. During the time of awarded, he was working at the University of Cambridge, Cambridge,
United Kingdom. He was born August 8, 1902, in Bristol, United Kingdom and died on October
20, 1984, in Tallahassee, FL, USA.
