Scope and Limitations

This study aimed to determine the correlations between the Fourth Year Bachelor
of Science in Accountancy students assessment of their current degree program
curriculum in Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila and their corresponding academic
performance from academic year 2012-2013 to the first semester of academic year 20152016. With its quantitative nature, it focused on the level of association between students
assessment of course load difficulty and their respective general weighted averages as a
measure of their academic performance. Hence, qualitative considerations like their ways
of coping with the existing curriculum, effects of course loads on students over-all wellbeing, and similar concerns regarding causal relationships are outside the bounds of this
study.

The respondents were Fourth Year Bachelor of Science in Accountancy students;

thus the course loads covered in this study ranged from the subjects they took in the first
semester of their freshman year in academic year 2012-2013 until the courses they are
enrolled in during the present academic year: 2015-2016.

However, since the second semester of the current academic year is not yet
closed, the correlation between their course load difficulty assessment and their academic
performance during this semester is not assimilated in this study.

Lastly, defined curricula of other colleges and universities are not incorporated in
the course of this research that was conducted in the second semester of academic year
2015-2016 in a span of four months.
