amplifier.Notethatthecircuitsusedforthe400rangewerealmostidenticaltothoseinthe500
range.Thesameamplifiercircuitswereusedinthe521amplifierandintheamplifiersectionsof
the525and526receivers.
Theearly500rangeamplifiersusetheA14poweramplifierboard.Thiswasreplacedlateronby
theA15.(The400rangeusedtheA14.)Theimagesbelowshowsmallversionsofthecircuit

wasbasedupontheZ17board.Theirschematicsandboardlayoutsareshownbelow.Aswiththe
A16andA17,clickonanimageifyouwishtoseealargercopy.

Notethattheswitchingarrangementforthepreamplifiersectionswasunusuallycomplexdueto
thesamesetoftransistorsbeingusedforboththelinelevelinputs(tapeandradio)aswellasfor
theRIAA(disc)preamplifier,andtheinclusionofallthefiltering,etc.Asaresult,thefeeback
arrangementisalsoswitcheddependinguponthesettingsofthebuttonsalongthefronofthe
unit.
