Ibrahim Ibn Adham a great virtuous man at the time of tabeen

Ibrahim Ibn Adham once he was in Iraq specially in the city of Basrah
And the people of that city when they saw this great man they said to him o Ibrah
im Ibn Adam
Allah SWT has said in the Quran
Make dua to Me and Ill accept send your dua and I will answer them
but we make dua all the time but none of our dua being accepted what is going on?
And Subhanallah! lets us listen to the answer that Ibrahim Ibn Adham was given.
not a year ago, not ten years ago, not a century ago, not a five hundred years ag

over thousand years ago but over thousand and three hundred years ago

Subhanallah! Ibrahim Ibn Adham said
he said the reason Allah doesnt Answer your duaa let me tell you its for ten reas
on
because your hearth have gone dead for ten reasons
and hes gonna tell us one after the other and he said number one..
he said you have come to know Allah SWT, you know who Allah is..
but you do not fulfill his rights isnt that true?
we know Allah, but we dont do what He tells us to do
number two he said
he said you reciting the Quran day and night but none of you practices the Quran
thats number two
and number three he said
you claim to love the Prophet SAW but you never follow his sunnah
how true is it..
and he said number four
you said that syaitan is our enemy but you always agree with him
how is that possible? he said always you said syaithan is our enemy we hate Ibli
s but you always agree with him
you follow his ways
and let me tell you number five he said
you always say that we love Jannah
we crave for Jannah, we all wanna go to Jannah
but you dont really acts as if you wanna go to Jannah isnt that true?
and the next one
you always say that you are fearful of Hellfire or we scared of Hell
but you never run away from Hellfire rather you are running towards Hellfire
look what else he said Subhanallah!
you say he said you say that death is inevitable it will definitely come
but you are not ready to die
you dont prepare yourself for death
after our khutbah today we have a janazah
a janazah of who? someone who was just like us
a brother called Abdullahhe was a worshipper on this very masjid
part of the congregation, a regular attendee of the masjid, helped lot of people
, learn the Quran
and he just died unexpected
and the Prophet SAW told us that the times gonna come
when death will happen very frequently
and people will die just like that
without any illnesses, without any accidents, just youll just die Subhanallah
isnt that something thats happening now we see all the time
Ibrahim Ibn Adham he also said please listen to this
this is another reason he said why Allah doesnt accept your duaa
he said you have busy yourself, you have preoccupied yourself with the shortcomi
ngs of other people

and you have forgotten your own problems how true is it you tell me
we always busy with the faults of other people, we always criticize others
dont speak to this person, dont go to this place, this person is evil, that pers
on is evil
how would I? are you an angel? its a question that we need to ask ourselves
he said you have become busy with the faults of other people and you have forgot
ten your own faults
and then also he said
he said you are eating from the blessing of Allah thats exactly
look how big I am day and night we are eating from the blessing of Allah
but am I grateful to Allah? thats another thing
you are not thankful to Allah SWT, you dont show your gratitude to Allah SWT, yo
ure not grateful
are we not? and im number one
and he said and this is something we can do right now for long-long time
Subhanallah very intellectual very intelligence he said
you take an you go to graveyard, to cemetery to bury your people but you dont tak
e any lesson from that
you dont take any heed from it look at he spoke to us Subhanallah in a way that w
e all can understand
