Unit 4: Integrated task proposal


Task 1:
Students context: Students have been trained in
obtaining general information from newspapers to
compare them and produce new outcomes (written).
Skills developed: Reading and Vocabulary.

Students will
- Read a new written by two different newspapers.
- Identify the main ideas in both to compare them in terms
of register, structure, and how each newspaper
approaches the new.
- Highlight the main descriptive vocabulary in both.
- Retell the news (written) explaining how different or
similar both newspapers were (two pages of length).

Task 2:
Students context: Students have been trained in
obtaining general information from newscasts to
compare them and produce new outcomes (orally)
Skills developed: Listening and pragmatics.

Students will.
- Hear the same new told by two different newscasts
- Identify the main ideas in both to compare them in terms
of structure, voice tone and register.
- Highlight expression and their real intention from both.
- Retell the new (orally) explaining the difference and
similarity between both newscasts. (12 15 minutes)
