Speakol - Speak Out Loud - was originally launched in 2012 as Naqeshny (meaning debate with me in
Arabic), in the midst of the Egyptian Revolution. It was designed as a free, democratic and open platform
which facilitated healthy and critical political debates and discussions around socio-political conditions
within the country.
My mission was to work on the overall business and product strategy to help on speeding up the business
growth, traffic, user base and brand awareness.
I joined the product after 2 years from its launch as "Naqeshny" and I achieved to increase the platform
registered users by +400% in few months. I worked with the team on creating a new solution for publishers
to use our debating platform externally on their website in order to drive engagement and community
building, we succeeded to access more than 35 Websites including the top news providers in Egypt like
Almasryelyoum, Ahramonline, Akhbarak.net and more.

Afterwards, I managed the whole facelifting process from the logo creation to the platform and plugins
reproduction as Speakol

After Sarmady majority acquisition on Akhbarak.net technology I was hired to continue the success that
I've already started 8 months before the acquisition and my mission was to maintain the project growth
rate also to replicate Akhbarak.net success into another 2 websites for news and sports targeting gulf users
Daralakhbar.com and Reyada.com.
I succeeded to keep Akhbarak.net at the top #3 most visited news websites in Egypt by Alexa for more than
a year.
Managed the creation of the sports news aggregator Reyada.com, created and implemented all the
communications and the social media strategies.
Continued my success on Akhbarak,net facebook page growth to reach 2 million fans and to keep being one
of the most engaging news pages on facebook.
Recruited, trained and managed more than 15 senior and junior team members who successfully managed
the social media presence for 3 different websites.

Akhbarak.net is the #1 News aggregator in Egypt and the Middle East, currently its one of the top #20
websites among all websites in Egypt (by Alexa). At this stage of the project; Akhbarak was a typical startup
running by 5 team members and I joined the team to complete them from the business side.
My mission was very focused on building the overall business strategy for Akhbarak, creating the marketing,
communications, social media strategies and everything that leads to better traffic rank, engagement and
brand positioning.
I managed the communication with more than 100 news source across Egypt and the middle east.
Succeeded then to create one of the most engaging social media news pages with over 800k users
organically from scratch.
Recruited, trained and managed the whole social media team members.
Involved in all the UX/UI modifications at Akhbarak that led to better website engagement and page-views.
Worked closely with the development team to create technical solutions that extremely helped on managing
the aggregation process and to offer a better experience for the user and the publisher.
