Library Overview:
Woodmore Elementary, located in Chattanooga, Tennessee has approximately 400
students. 98 % of the population of students are African-American, with 1% being white,
and the other 1% Hispanic. Currently, technology provided in the classrooms: 1
Promethean board with projector, 1 Desktop computer/ printer for teachers, and Google
Chromebooks that are checked out from the Computer lab to teachers as needed for a
classroom of approximately 20 students, approximately 50 Google Chromebooks in all.
Elmos are provided for projecting a book onto the Promethean board, one per teacher.
The Library has one computer for the Librarian, one computer for students, five (5) IPads to use for students, a Promethean board, projector, and an Elmo.

Teacher Collaboration:
The Librarian collaborates with teachers once per week to find out how the library can
specifically support standards being taught in the classrooms, Kindergarten through 5th
grades in Reading, Language Arts, Social Studies, and Science.

Needs Assessment:
After meeting with the teachers: (4- Kindergarten, 3- First grade, 3- Second grade, 4Third grade, 3- Fourth grade, and 3- Fifth grade) they are in need of more computers for
their classrooms. They all agreed they are in need of at least 8 computers in each
classroom. The Library needs 20 computers. I would plan to form a Technology plan
committee of teachers, intervention teachers, and administrators.

Mission:
Our mission is to supply the 1:1 technology resources (on a rotation-basis) needed to
assimilate technology aligned with curriculum to advance student learning, develop
instruction that is engaging and self-directed.

Vision:
Our vision of Woodmore Elementary is to create a more student-centered school,
where the goals of increasing the technological devices in the classroom and in the library
to help support the curriculum, raising scores in all subjects and in all grades. We aspire
for the students to have more technology used in lesson plans, as well as, use computer
programs as a lesson plan for literacy.

Beliefs:
We believe that orchestrating the technology with curriculum allows:
Teachers to administer modern skills of technology and interweaves technology

into instruction.
Instruction that is engaging and more self-directed for students.
Real-world applications and connections to curriculum.
Multiple ways of evaluating student comprehension.
Supports students to foster creativity.
A venue to teach to all learning styles (auditory, kinesthetic, visual) of students.

Goals:
1. Develop more student creativity and engagement of lessons.

2. Promote motivation for students to learn new ideas and concepts.

3. Supply a portal for students to create deeper results once subjects and ideas are
revealed.
4. Ensure teachers can reach all students and their individualized learning styles.

Action Plan:
The proposed budget for purchasing these additional technology devices:
$125,700.00. The Technology Plan committee plans to apply for grants, as well as, ask for
donations from Dell Incorporated. We will also host fundraisers-Book Fair/ Festival
within the school to raise money for technology. The training to use the resources will be
administered by the Computer teacher in the school, and the Librarian/ Media Specialist
will provide support as needed.

Breakdown of Equipment/ Purchases:

Computers: 180 computers x $670.00-Dell 3030 All-In-One OptiPlex
computers=$120,600.00
Dell Multi-function E514dw Printers: 2 additional for each classroom (20
classrooms), plus 1 for Library. Proposed cost: 21 printers x $200= $4,200.00.
One (1) 3-Dimensional Printer: XYZ printing da Vinci 1.1 Plus 3D Printer: $700.00
Estimated Shipping and Handling: $200.00

Evaluation:

MLI 5070_Stephanie Skinner

How will the effectiveness of technology purchases be measured? The effectiveness of

technology purchases be measured by comparing students scores before and after
purchasing additional technology. Due to every classroom being different, assessment
will help the committee observe the investment of the technology dollars more wisely.
Ongoing charges of maintenance of equipment will be maintained by annual fundraisers
held by the Technology Committee.

The plan calls upon educators who would be included in converting learning by
technology and adheres to the Every Student Succeeds Act as permitted by Congress in
December 2015. The Technology plan provides a template for such plan, to include, and
an Introduction, Learning, Teaching, Leadership, Assessment, Infrastructure, and a
Conclusion. Within each of the Headings, for example: Introduction, the plan gives a
description of what each entails, specifically, the Introduction would include a vision
and purpose of the National Education Technology Plan for students across the United
States.
