Thispositionperformsandcoordinatessurveyingassignmentsrelatedtoprojecttopography,rightof
wayacquisitions,surpluspropertyandmaterialsites,andassiststheRightofWayManagerwiththe
permitsofficeondeededaccessissues.Thispositionperformsvariouscadastrallandsurveysatthe
regionleveltodeterminetheDepartmentofTransportation'srightofwayboundariesandproperties,
providescertificationofandaccuraterecordingsandregistrationofsuchsurveyswithcountysurveyor
offices.Providesrecordofsurveysperformedwithintheregion,developsrightofwayplandesigns,
instruments,suchasdeedsandlanddescriptionsfortheacquisitionofrightofwayforconstruction
projects,performscomplexsurveycalculationsandprovidestechnicalassistanceasrequired.Alsoassists
propertyownersandlocalgovernmentswithaccessandpropertyconcerns.

Thisindividualwillbeassignedactivitieswithorwithoutthesupportofstaff,andcanbeassignedto
design,manage,oversee,andreviewrightofwaydesignprojects.Theindividualwillspendasignificant
amountoftimesupportingprojectsorprogramsaswellasprovidingskillsasalicensedsurveyor.

Thispositionrequiresanindividualwhoisproficientinwritinglegaldescriptionsandconveyance
documents,includingwordeditingskills.Thispositionwillutilizeandbeproficientinspecific
transportationengineeringandsurveyingsoftware,ComputerAidedDesignandDrafting(CADD)and
officesoftware.Thisindividualwillalsoreviewtechnicaldocuments,overseeconsultantprojectsrelating
torightofway,surveyorutilityissues,writelettersandmemos,preparereports,andparticipatein
publicinvolvementandpublicrequestsasrequired.

EXAMPLEOFDUTIES:
Applyintensiveanddiversifiedknowledgeofsurveying/engineeringprinciplesandpracticesin
broadareasofassignmentsandrelatedfields
Providetheresultsoftitlesearchesinthevariouscountydatabases(Davis,Weber,Morgan,Box
Elder,Cache,andRichcounties).
Prepareandreviewsurveyworkforrightofwayplans,ownershiprecords,easementsandright
ofwaydeedsofconveyanceforacquisition,surplusproperty,determinepropertylines,elevations,
grades,benchmarks,boundaries,andrealestate
Coordinatethemaintenanceofexistingandnewrightofwayfiles,maps,documentsand
correspondenceindepartmentandregionrecordkeepingsystems
CoordinateRegionassistancewiththepublic,othergovernmentagenciesandothergroupswithin
thedepartmentwithquestionsandrequestsregarding,propertymanagement,access
management,rightofwaydocuments,claims,disputes,andconflictsinvolvingdepartment
property
Coordinateand/oractasaliaisonbetweenagencies,workunits,organizations,consultants,etc
Estimateworkforceneedsandschedules,andassignworktomeetcompletiondatescoordinated
withtheclientandprojectgoals
Analyze,summarizeand/orreviewdataandreportfindingsinterpretresultsand/orfindings
