1. How are major issues about this group FRAMED in the media? Attach a news clip that serves
as an example demonstrating commonly used media short-hand, or FRAMING. The media has
shown favor in covering major issues the LGBTQA community deals with, including the
Supreme Court ruling that legalized gay marriage and recently the Orlando mass shooting. To
my knowledge, the community overall has been framed in an objective light. However, after
doing a bit of research, I dont think that specific members of the LGBT group have been
represented as equally as other members, for instance bisexual people dont get as much

2. In what way(s) is this group MARGINALIZED in the media ? Attach news clip demonstrating an
example of this MARGINALIZATION.
___To continue my point above, the LGBT community has been addressed by the media as a
whole group. However, certain members have been marginalized, for instance bisexual,
pansexual or asexual people. They are not shown primarily in news media. The more

perspectives challenge/question that mainstream perspective viewing the group from a

Insider perspective is that not all members of this group feel as though they have been
represented as they could be, and are given stereotypes by other members inside the group.
