HUMAN RIGHTS LAW

RIGHT TO DIE

To live on earth is the greatest gift of God, the moment he gave life to humanity. Life is
the core why humans exist, strive and pursue various challenges in everyday life. This is the
main reason why the right to life has become the most recognized right of all. This is manifested
in our laws and penal system. Even in our Constitution, it is found in the Bill of Rights how
human life has been recognized and given protection. But in the other side of the coin, why other
nations recognized the right to die? Does it contradict when we are to relate this right in the right
to life enshrined under the Constitution? Does it violate God and the Law? These are questions
that need a logical and objective answer. Let me start with the right to die. This right
contemplates a situation wherein a person is in a hopeless state, that there is no room for him to
be cured or in a vegetable state. I am in the opinion that the right to die never violates law and
God. It is just a personal thing between man and God. As long as a hopeless and dying person is
committed to it voluntarily, and had made a decision in a clear and unequivocal terms, the same
would justify such right. To say that only God has the right to take ones life is to say that every
dying or person in hopeless state has no right to end his or her suffering. Therefore the right to
die is a practical way to end pain and frustration and likewise it will save money and time.
