Troops of Saint George Mission

The Troops of Saint George apostolate aims to use the outdoors as our
canvas and the sacraments as our path to light the way for the
formation of Holy Catholic men and boys. Whether called to the
vocation of the priesthood, the religious life, or that of Holy fatherhood,
our fathers and sons will take a prayerful pilgrimage together to fulfill
Christ's desire for them to grow in virtue and in their Holy Catholic faith
as they journey toward heaven. - Saint George, Pray for us.
Troops of Saint George Law, Motto, and Oath
The Law

The Troops of Saint George Law was written by Saint Peter, our first
Pope:
1. Honor all men.
2. Love the brotherhood.
3. Fear God.
4. Honor the King. (1 Peter 2:17)
The Motto: Parati Semper

The motto of the Troops of Saint George is Parati Semper, which also
comes from Saint Peter, our first Pope:

But sanctify the Lord Christ in your hearts, being prepared

always (parati semper) to satisfy every one that asketh you a
reason of that hope which is in you. (1 Peter 3:15)
Dominum autem Christum sanctificate in cordibus vestris parati
semper ad satisfactionem omni poscenti vos rationem de ea quae in
vobis est spe. (1 Peter 3:15, Latin Vulgate)
The Oath

The Troops of Saint George Oath was written by the Apostle Paul (1
Timothy 4:12), and defines the five traits of the man who seeks to be a
disciple of Our Lord Jesus Christ by patterning his life after Saint George
of Lydda.
Set an example:
1. in speech (in verbo)
2. and conduct (in conversatione)
3. in love (in caritate)
4. in faith (in fide)
5. in purity (in castitate). (1 Timothy 4:12)

INFORMATION

Welcome to Issue No. 1 of The Saint

George Sentinel. The Sentinel will be
distributed on a monthly basis to
communicate any upcoming Troop
activities, meetings, fundraisers, etc.
The Sentinel will provide information
for both, Cadets and Fathers to review
each month. Information provided
will be taken directly from the Troops
of Saint George Officers Manual.
Troop 1819 will be hosting its Kick-Off
Party on October 1st at the Knights of
Columbus Pavilion. The Kick-Off Party
will be held between 5:30 pm to 8:00
pm.
Cadet Information Forms for the
2016-2017 charter season will be emailed directly to parents of cadets.

Cadets will be issued three (3) items
during the Kick-Off Party, these items
will be required during all Troop 1819
gatherings.
1. Pocket Rosary
2. Pocket Knife
3. Class B Uniform Shirt**
**Class B Shirts will be provided for all
cadets. Additional shirts can be
purchased at $12.00 ea. Plus S&H.
Officers and Fathers will also be
required to wear Class B Uniform
Shirts.
