Eighteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Greetings of peace,
Today we extend our good-byes to Fr. Eric Carpine, OFM. Fr. Eric will take leave soon for his new
assignment in St. Petersburg, Florida. Since his arrival here at 100 Arch Street in 2012, Fr. Eric has been a
kind confessor, a great spiritual mentor, and very clever preacher here over the years. Im personally
grateful for his wisdom, built up by many years of pastoral ministry, and for his hard work here at the
Shrine. Many blessings on the next step of your journey, Fr. Eric!
We sadly report the death of Linda Goodemote, a Eucharist Minister here at the Shrine and the wife of
David Goodemote, after a relatively short illness. May Linda rest with the angels in heaven!

Propagation of the Faith

As part of the annual Missionary

Co Operative Program, Mrs.

Maureen Crowley Heil, a
representative of the Society of
the Propagation of the Faith, will
speak at all Masses on August 6/7
about the Society of the
Propagation of the Faith, one of
the four Pontifical Mission
Societies represented here in the
Archdiocese of Boston. She will
share her experience in the
missions with us as a way to raise
awareness about the need to
spread the Good News to the
more than one billion people in
the world who have yet to hear it
proclaimed. The Society of the
Propagation of the Faith is the
official mission agency of the
Church dedicated to helping
missionaries bring the Gospel to
people in need around the world.

Notes:
1. "Sale of Property" is a one-time sale of real estate outside
Boston.
2. On July 1, 2015, we separated the books of the Shrine and the
Friary. This is why the Friary expenses have decreased.
