Iqbal is Taught as a subject in Bukhara and iran and some other states his
philosophy is helpfull to discover inner self which is the core subject of todays
scientific studies .....we muslim have a believ his poetry is quranic explanation in
formofpoetry.Iqbalpoetrymaynotbepopulartogainmorenumbersbutquality
readersdofollowhispoetryANDTHISblog.....

Thereareprobablyabout60oddmillionPakistaniswhowere,overthepastdecades,educated
intheUrdulanguageandreadIqbal'sworksaspartoftheircurriculum.Thesestudentsdidnot
receive their education in the Colonial English that is the medium of choice for wealthier
PakistanisandurbanschoolsIndia.Indian,becauseofIqbal'spoliticalandreligiousviews,asa
generalruledislikeIqbalandwouldonlysubscribeinaminority(afewhundredperhapsat
best).
Outofthe60oddmillionstatedabove,likemanyothercountriesabout15%perhapswould
read poetry every now and then and maybe 5% would be avid readers of poetry. I would
probablysurmisethatabout3%ofthattotalactuallyunderstandsthephilosophyofIqbals
poetryandhaveaccesstothenet(ahealthyproportionisnowsettledabroad).
Soperhaps,asaguess,1.5to1.8millionpeopleread,understandandappreciateIqbalspoetry
asitoughttobe.Another10to15millionreadhimregularlyandaresemiliterateinhisideas.
Therestprobablynevergotbeyondwhattheyweretaughtatschool.
Thesubscriberswouldbeamixofthethreecategories.
