ABSTRACT
What is photography and what is art? Truth to be
told, theres no need to debate this as long as the
image creates a powerful emotional response in the
mind of the viewer.
The digital age has turned traditional photography
on its head, blurring the boundaries between pure
photography and art. Although Photoshop was rst
released 26 years ago, it is only in the last few years
that home computers have become powerful enough
to fully exploit the creative universe that tools such as
Photoshop can cheaply provide. And so, the age of
photographic abstractionism begins.
The debate between photography and digital art is
best addressed by looking at popular photography
websites. Two of the best for serious photography are
www.1X.com and www.500px.com. Interestingly,
both of these sites equally cover digital art and
traditional photography.
So it doesnt matter how an image is created. If its
amazing, it will evoke an emotional response and
that is the magic of a great photography and art!

Call an ambulance by dialing 118, but it is a lot

more practical and quicker to hire a taxi. Most
hotels have on-call doctors on standby. For Bali
Belly, Lomotil and Imodium eliminate symptoms,
but not gastro-related infections. A fever along
with symptoms requires doctor-prescribed
antibiotics.
Drink as much liquid as possible. Isotonic
drinks under various brand names are widely
available and are known to replenish body
hydration and replace uids. For discomfort,
diarrhea and cramping, drink strong, hot tea;
avoid fruits and spicy foods.
Some day-biting mosquitoes carry dengue
fever, but this is not a problem in tourist areas.
Bali is non-malarial and prophylaxis is not
required. Mosquito bites, cuts or abrasions
easily become infected in the tropics. Treat them
immediately.
Drink only bottled or boiled water. Peel fruit
before eating; avoid raw vegetables except at
reputable restaurants. Ice in restaurants is safe.
Protect yourself from the intense equatorial sun.
Use high SPF sunblock and a hat.
AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases
are increasing in Indonesia. Local sex workers
have multiple partners from around the world.
They are not checked for sexually transmitted
diseases. Act responsibly and use condoms,
available over the counter at pharmacies.
