Kernel Patch set Application

1.1

Introduction
This document explains the steps to apply Kernel Patch set and modify affected
consulting units to prepare the EAR.
These steps include loading of DDL, INC and objects into the environment using FCUBS
installer. This tool automates the creation of the database. The database created using
this tool will have the database objects that are available in the software source.

1.2

Prerequisites
.

1.3

During the setup, service/DB jobs should not be running in the schema. If some services
are still running in the schema, use 'exec dbms_job.remove('||job||');' from ;user_jobs.

Loading Database Objects

This is the first step to start the application of kernel patch set. Loading of database
objects into the environment is done with the help of FCUBS Installer. All DB objects
(DDL, INC, SPC, SQL) from the latest kernel patch set released are compiled in the
schema using FCUBS installer. Refer the below Document for further.

2.3

Consulting changes retro

This section contains the steps to retro the kernel patch set changes on to corresponding
consulting units affected.
1

Check the kernel patch set for stream/custom packages. Check for the
same stream/custom packages in FCUBS_SUPPORT SVN. If the units are
not present in Support SVN, then they are pure kernel packages and no
retro is needed.
If the units are present, retro of consulting changes, from Support SVN

units on top of kernel patch set units should be done.

The modified kernel patch set units, containing the consulting changes
have to be then checked in to FCUBS_SUPPORT SVN.
Compile the checked in units in required schema.
List out all the RAD xml released as a part of the latest kernel patch set.
Check if the same units are present in that FCUBS_SUPPORT SVN. If not
then they are pure kernel RADs and no retro is needed.
If the RADs are present in the list then RAD refresh is required for those
which are present in the list. The kernel patch set RADs are refreshed
(source refresh) as mentioned in section 2.2.
Generate main.spc and main.sql for the refreshed RADs and compile in
required schema.
If the units are valid, then check in the RAD.xml, main.spc and main.sql of
the corresponding RAD.xml to FCUBS_SUPPORT SVN.
Generated UIxml and JS file needs to be replaced in FCUBSApp.ear which
created in section
