Bobo song is an original pinoy music rap composed by Loonie who is really known in
flip top battles that composes lines that could really make the listeners think out of the box. It
was my first time to hear the song and it is actually difficult for me to understand the song itself.
It seems like he wants us or the listeners to try and discover their own personal meaning for the
song, and for me, Loonies original song composition talks about a lot of meaningful subjects
and issues about us, Filipinos on how stupid our mentality is.
Well, we cannot blame other people in thinking in that way but I think this song is really
on point, meaning that we Filipinos should realize the things we are doing that makes us stupid.
On the first verse of the song, the social issue there is the patriotism of the Filipinos in foreign
things. There's nothing wrong with that actually, but forgetting our own is such a shame. It is
really stupid if we let these things to continue and not doing anything about it. What Loonie
wants to realize to us is the dumbness of some Filipinos in thinking about this issue. They keep
on repeating until they never realize that is it is really stupid.
The second verse of the song is really timely to our country right now, which is the issue
about the elections. It is true that some politicians came from the showbiz world and maybe
some of them ran to make them more famous. And the sad reality is, people also follow them,
they vote for them, and then what is the benefit from it? We are rational being; we should use our
brain well and decide what is right, being stupid is not okay, especially when we are holding the
future of others.
All in all, I felt the frustrations from the song, how the composer really wanted to show
us the real issues in our country and how stupid persons we are to end up like this. The real
highlight of the song is there is really no excuse in being stupid, not even poverty and the
education. We just need to be enlightened by the things we see and we should not be blinded by
others and lastly, we should always think wise not only for ourselves, but also for the future of
others. Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious
stupidity. Martin Luther King Jr.
