INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this project has been for our team to comprehend the relevance of
Advanced Glycation End-products (A.G.E.s) and develop a strategy to share the benefits
of Tr-Age MAX from Morinda, Inc. with potential customers/ business partners to
increase earnings for GKW Enterprises, Inc.
GKW Enterprises, Inc., has been hit hard in the last ten years due to many outside factors
that include the health issues and deaths of your husband, father, and mother; changes in
Morinda, Inc.s policies, products, and marketing strategies; partnership dissolution; and
the Great Recession.
Morinda, Inc. has now established a clear focus of their mission. Based on the scientific
research and studies behind Advanced Glycation End-products (A.G.E.s), their focus is
on A.G.E. Awareness, the Tr-Age Scanner, and the benefits of consuming Tr-Age
MAX to help lower A.G.E levels in the body. GKW Enterprises, Inc. requires a clear
method that can be duplicable to move forward in rebuilding the foundation and sales
volumes of the past.
This report, authorized by Ann Wilson, President of GKW Enterprises, Inc., is a
summary of the research performed by Team Morinda, the findings, and our conclusion
with recommendations. Marylynn Huggins has written this report with the assistance of
Brenden Munck and Faerouz Alsaffar. All team members collected and contributed data
for the primary research of questionnaire #2, Live Younger Longer!

Purpose The purpose moving forward in this report is to examine the best way
to deal with changes that come up in life. Understand the strategy behind Multilevel
Marketing, learn why awareness of A.G.E.s is an important message to share with people,
and report the findings of our research.

Scope As we defined the scope of this project we intentionally left out

researching the specific products sold by Morinda, Inc. We wanted to give more focus
and attention to the strategy of the marketing model being implemented and the focus on
the A.G.E. message.

Limitations The largest limitation has been the timing. Right in the middle of
the timeline for this project was the North America Business Summit that involved the
people who could be the most help. Access to observation opportunities to see and hear

presentations by top leaders are only available after the due date for the project. In
addition, due to traveling between Utah and NYC it has been difficult to find time for
interviews with those mentioned in the Team R&D Memo.

Sources and Methods

Primary Questionnaires and Interview
Having Success? We had 16 IPC Leaders from around the
country respond to a quick survey while they were attending the
North America Business Summit in NYC.

Live Younger Longer! The response for this survey was more
than expected. We had 135 diverse responses ranging in age from
18-73, the largest being in the 56+ age group from Marylynns
Facebook friend pool. The geographical range of the survey
responses extends outside of Utah and even includes Canada.

Zachary Lifferth, U.S. West Regional Sales Manager This

was a phone interview that took place on Friday, July 25, while
Zach was driving from Utah to Arizona on his way to a training
meeting. The purpose of the meeting involved sharing the
message and information just released in NYC at the North
America Business Summit.

Secondary Books and Websites

MLM Magic (Andrecht) - A realistic introduction to the
world of Multilevel Marketing, what it is, what it takes, and why
it is a viable business option. This book contains keys to
unlocking the magic of networking. The questionnaires shed
light concerning a negative perception about this business model
in many peoples minds. Not everyone is as excited to be in
business or believes anything good can come from Multilevel
Marketing.
In her book, Venus uses stories to illustrate her methods for approaching people in
a nonthreatening way. The key to each method is getting to know the person first,
finding out what they like and dont like, learning just what are their dreams and

ambitions in life. Dont be afraid to Be Selective in the process. Be willing to

Sort People into Piles. Even though Sometimes Discrimination is Not
Easy, its better for your business to seek after the jewels and pass up the stones.
This may even mean looking at the people you already have and recognizing
Who to Help, Who to Let Go.
Be careful to avoid living in the Land of Hope because Hope Wont Do It. Be
open to Seeing Through Your Preconceptions, and Getting Over Negative
Beliefs About Selling may be necessary. A big hurdle for many is being
prepared to Step Outside Your Circle. Venus offers a vision that opens one up
to looking outward rather than focusing on self, Selling is Sharing and Caring
About the Other Person.
Youre self-involved if youre more concerned about your feelings being
hurt if you get a no than you are about the possible benefit to the person.
If you know that what youre offering can help them, maybe even change
their life in some positive way, dont you think its selfish to keep it to
yourself? Give the person a chance. Lay it out in a nonthreatening,
noninvasive way. Come from the goodness in your heart.

Who Moved My Cheese? (Johnson M.D.) In addition to the book we

viewed the animated movie adaptation on YouTube (IPD Belize)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=16hxCB1Dvd4 Faerouz has written a brief
summary and reflection on what she took from watching the video.
Based on the little movie I watched, Who Moved My Cheese? I was able to learn a few
things from this little amazing movie. It basically talks about change and how to deal
with it in the real world. We face change all the time, driven both by internal or external
influences whether its changes in our social life, or business life. Changes in business
could be very tough and sometimes it seems impossible to handle, but there is always a
solution for everything.
In the movie, there are two characters
named Sniff and Scurry portrayed as
mice. They represent the parts of us
that are simple and instinctive. Hem
and Haw portray the little people,
representing those complex parts of us

4
as human beings. Sometimes we are like Sniff, who anticipates change early by sniffing
it out, or Scurry, who quickly scurries into action and adapts. Maybe we are more like
Hem, who denies change and resists it out of fear, or Haw, who learns to adapt in time
when he sees something better. Whatever part of us we choose, we all share the
common need to find our way in the maze of life and succeed in changing times.

Here is some wisdom from Who Moved My Cheese?

Anticipate change.

Adapt quickly.

Enjoy change.

Be ready to change quickly, again and again

If you do not change, you can become extinct

When you move beyond your fear, you feel free

Noticing small changes early helps you adapt to the bigger changes that are to
come.

A.G.E.s General Information

A.G.E.s (Advanced Glycation End-products) are harmful compounds that
form when excess protein and sugar bind together. These compounds
prematurely age our bodies and have been linked to many different
serious health concerns. Some experts believe that our A.G.E. levels
should be a medical marker just like how blood pressure, body mass index
and blood sugar are.
A.G.E.s are a product of a persons lifestyle and habits. The foods we eat,
the amount of sleep we get, the stress we experience, and the level of
exercise we take part in all help determine our A.G.E. levels. Even
smoking contributes to A.G.E. development.

The negative effects of A.G.E.s have been validated in many different

scientific studies over a span of many years.
A.G.E.s form both endogenously (inside the body), and exogenously
(outside the body).
A.G.E.s are formed naturally inside our bodies when excess sugar and
protein combine, and can also be ingested from the foods we eat. Foods
that are high in A.G.E.s include fried, processed, or sugary foods. Animal
meats, especially red meats, are also high in A.G.E.s. They also form
inside our bodies depending on our lifestyle. A sedentary lifestyle is one
of the major contributors to high A.G.E. levels, whereas regular exercise
and physical activity helps reduce the amount of A.G.E.s in our body.
High levels of stress and a lack of sleep also contribute to A.G.E.
development.
A.G.E.s are also formed outside of the body, such as on food. In fact,
cooking methods affect A.G.E. levels in the foods we eat, and A.G.E.s can
be consumed. Cooking with high levels of heat or using cooking methods
that brown foods including barbecuing, grilling, frying, sauting, broiling,
searing and toasting send the A.G.E. content of foods skyrocketing.
That browning reaction even takes place during bread baking (namely with
the crust), and the production of processed foods and dark sodas.
Conversely, using water while cooking helps reduce the formation of
A.G.E.s. Moist cooking methods such as boiling, steaming, poaching,
stewing or simmering are all healthier than using high, dry heat (i.e.
grilling). Still, acidic marinades can suppress A.G.E. formation by up to 50
percent when cooking meat. Also, natural foods and ingredients are lower
in A.G.E.s than processed foods. Some natural produce (such as noni
fruit, blueberries, olive leaves, cranberries and cornelian cherries) even
contain phytonutrients knows as iridoids, which have been shown to
reduce A.G.E. levels in the body.
The body has natural processes to rid itself of harmful A.G.E.s. However,
when too many A.G.E.s are consumed and created, they build up faster
than the body can keep up with and begin to accumulate in body tissues.
This accumulation affects our entire bodies, from the skin to the organs.

A.G.E.s damage the collagen and elastin in our skin, leaving it wrinkled,
saggy and dull. This leads to an older physical appearance.
Meanwhile, high levels of A.G.E.s are linked to virtually every serious
health concern we face today: cardiovascular disease, diabetes, liver
disease, Alzheimers disease, kidney function, blood sugar levels, joint
health, memory function, vision impairment, inflammation, hypertension,
heart disease, dementia, stroke, arthritis, osteoporosis and periodontal
disease. Researchers have even discovered a potential link between
A.G.E.s and cancer.

TruAge.com This is a recruiting site set up by Morinda, Inc. to assist

IPCs in spreading the word about A.G.E.s. It includes a brief video explanation
of what A.G.E.s are, how they are formed in the body, how they can be measured,
and ends with a call to action. As an incentive, the presentation is partnered with
a Dream Vacation contest.
Each month, Morinda gives away an
all-expense paid Dream Vacation for
two to those who help build A.G.E.
awareness by sharing the video found
on this site. Each month, the winner
and a guest will win a trip for two to
an exotic destination. Just enter and
share daily to increase your chances
of winning!

Report Organization The report will walk you through the findings of our
questionnaires with an analysis of the data displayed in charts and graphs. You will also
find the results of an interview with Zach Lifferth, the US West Regional Sales Manager,
who addresses the vision and direction of Morinda shared with attendees at the North
America Business Summit this month. We then wrap things up with our conclusion and
recommendations we have for your business and the strategy we feel will address your
business needs for the future.

FINDINGS
As part of our Primary Research, we chose to conduct two surveys.
Having Success?
The first survey focused on the behavior of other IPCs within Morinda, and their methods
of initial contact with potential customers/business partners. There were sixteen
participants, all with a leadership role in their individual organizations. Two of the
participants are the heads of organizations with Morinda as their Upline. As you will see
in the following example, there is diversity in methods among IPCs. Even among the
two at the top!

Those who use a scripted presentation on average have achieved a higher title and have
organizations that continue to grow by using the same method. One item that stands out
among those who have achieved success is that they have taken the time to complete
Morinda University. The knowledge found in those brief exercises goes a long way in
building leaders within an organization and the company overall.

The second survey dealt with the awareness of the general population concerning
A.G.E.s, their view of lifestyle choices pertaining to their own health, their
comfort/favorability level with the Direct Sales/MLM/Network Marketing industry, and
interest in knowing more about A.G.E. levels in their bodies.

Key Points

Dietary supplements contain a variety of ingredients, such as

vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and herbs or other botanicals.
Research has confirmed health benefits of some dietary
supplements but not others.
To use dietary supplements safely, read and follow the label
instructions, and recognize that natural does not always mean
safe. Be aware that an herbal supplement may contain dozens of
compounds and that all of its ingredients may not be known.
Some dietary supplements may interact with medications or pose
risks if you have medical problems or are going to have surgery.
Most dietary supplements have not been tested in pregnant
women, nursing mothers, or children.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulates dietary
supplements, but the regulations for dietary supplements are
different and less strict than those for prescription or over-thecounter drugs.
Tell all your health care providers about any complementary health
approaches you use. Give them a full picture of what you do to
manage your health. This will help ensure coordinated and
safe care.

Direct Sales, MLM, Network Marketing

Morinda Inc. is a Multi-level Marketing (MLM) business model. Even though the
products they promote can be beneficial to consumers, there is an overwhelming negative
perception by the majority of the population. This perception will make getting the
message out to potential customers even more of a challenge.
Figure 8 is a measurement of how familiar participants are, whether or not they are

Interview
The interview with Zach Lifferth, U.S. West Regional Sales Manager, was definitely a
positive end to the process of researching various marketing strategies. He explained the
vision of Morinda, Inc., as they rolled out a new presentation video last week at the North
America Business Summit. The intention of the company is to provide a united way of
sharing the Tr-Age message.
He pointed out the three key areas of focus and the products to go with each

Part 5: The Opportunity

Conclusion
In conclusion, Team Members share comments about their experience during the
collection of questionnaire responses and viewing the new Standard Opportunity
Presentation.

Surveys Comments
According to the surveys that I collected from family and friends, I was able to
notice that most of them have not heard of A.G.E.s before, but they were curious to know
more about it, and know how old they really are. The older people were curious to know
more about their real age because they wanted to live longer and younger. Unlike the
younger people who did not want to know their real age because they know that theyre

16

young from outside and inside because they dont even smoke or drink alcohol, so they
were relieved about their age and were pretty sure that theyre young outside and inside.
The people who were interested in the product which are the older people, they liked it
for few reasons first, the product contain only fruits so it is all natural. Second, it does
not have any medication or drugs that could affect their health negatively. Finally, they
dont need a doctor prescription to get it. (Faerouz Alsaffar)

Video comments
Morinda has recently released a new video titled Morinda Standard Opportunity
Presentation. This video poses the question: What would an extra year to live mean to
you? Would you use that extra year to spend time with family, perfect a sport, or enjoy
a hobby? Our bodies start out young and energetic, gradually over time pains and
sickness begin to creep in. Growing old is a fact-of-life we all have to live with.
Thankfully, there has been break-through research in A.G.E.s or Advanced Glycation
End-products. A.G.E.s are destructive, toxic compounds that thrive in the body; these are
comparable to rust on a car. We can however, fight against this by managing and
lowering our A.G.Es levels through monitoring our diet, sleep schedule, and other health
habits.
Morinda has conducted research on the noni fruit that is rich in iridoids, which help fight
against A.G.Es. Just like cholesterol, BMI, and blood pressure; A.G.Es can be
measured as well through the Tr-Age Scanner which simply uses advanced ultra violet
light to measure the amount of A.G.Es in the body. Not only do we have the ability to
know A.G.Es are formed through sugar bonding with proteins in the body, we know
how to fight against them. This has given Morinda the opportunity to introduce several
products that have the potential to help reduce ones A.G.E. level and possibly allow you
to live that extra year to spend time with family, enjoy a hobby, or relax.
In regards to the video
The message(s) were clear and concise.
The style in which it was filmed/narrated reminded me very much of
"Through The Wormhole" which is narrated by Morgan Freeman.
I liked how the video told a story --- This is where it began, this is where we
are presently, and this is where we want to go, etc
I watched the video in the Denver Airport and several people sitting around me
actually looked at my computer and took interest in the video, watching it the whole
time --- so definitely it has an attention grab effect. (Brenden Munck)

Recommendations
The most important factor in any business is belief. If you believe in yourself,
business, product, and consumers as well, then you will build a successful business
based on trust. Following are some recommendations we have for your business
moving forward.
1. After researching and analyzing the data we would recommend that you keep the
same target demographic, but also introduce or branch out into a younger
demographic as well.
Teens and young adults are conscious about their diet and staying in peak
physical condition by going to the gym, eating healthy, and working on a
set sleep schedule. Some of these young adults are not aware of what
A.G.E.s are and what they can do to the body. If they find interest in the
products, and notice results, they will share their experience with friends,
which would open up the possibility of them becoming an IPC for
Morinda.
2. One way of reaching into the younger demographic, and expanding the base

audience of your message, would be through social media such as, Facebook,
Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc...
3. Complete and encourage all your downline to complete Morinda University. This

will give all IPCs a good understanding of MLM business building basics and
product knowledge.
4. Continue working to change the negative perception of the MLM industry by

encouraging your new recruits as well as your current downline to focus on the
needs of the customer rather than on how much they can make from signing
someone up. You have a great message to share. Focus on the message and how
the benefits of lowering A.G.E.s. is important to everyone everywhere.
