Boubyan Bank offers first contactless payment cards to


Kuwait in partnership with OT
In order to offer its customers innovation and cutting-edge technology, Boubyan Bank
has decided to market new contactless payment cards, provided by OT. It significantly
enhances the shopping experience as customers just need to wave their contactless
payment card in front of a contactless terminal. The first contactless terminals are
expected in 2016.
Thanks to OTs contactless technology, people can experience shopping differently: make
faster and convenient transactions while remaining secure.

2. QNB offers remote cheque deposit service


QNB is offering the remote cheque deposit service, which allows QNB First Members to
deposit cheques in a fast and efficient way to their accounts.
The feature offers customers easy and convenient banking through QNBs mobile
banking.
By using the remote cheque deposit service, QNB First Members will be able to take a
picture of a cheque with their smartphone or tablet and directly deposit it to their
account.
The new feature will save QNB First Members the time and effort to visit a branch in order
to deposit QNB-issued cheques, while maintaining safety and security. QNB has recently
launched a new version of its mobile banking application, which has an easy-to-use
interface, offering a variety of new features available for all QNB customers.
The new application, which is available in English, Arabic and French also allows QNB
customers and non-customers the ability to find the closest ATMs, branches, and Life
Rewards partners, apply for loans and credit cards, or book an appointment with QNB, as
well as being able to read the latest QNB-related news and promotions.
The new version of QNB mobile banking gives customers the ability to create and modify
fund transfer and Western Union beneficiaries. Customers are able to view their accounts
anywhere in the world. They can pay with cards and redeem their Life Rewards loyalty
points for utility payments or convert them to Ooredoo Nojoom or Qatar Airways Qmiles

Customers will still enjoy all the previous features offered by QNB mobile banking such as
conveniently accessing their accounts, credit card balances, transfers, bill payments or
request cheque books.
QNB mobile banking can be downloaded from Apples app store or Google Play or tried
on one of QNBs innovative mobile banking tablet kiosk at QNB branches.

3. Bank Muscat Launches New Mobile Banking App


Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the sultanate, in line with its
Lets Do More vision and focus on innovation to provide a distinct banking experience,
has launched an all-new, feature-rich mobile banking application, introducing unique new
services and enhancing existing services to do more banking from anywhere, anytime.
The new easy-to-use mBanking services include fund transfers across the world via the
banks SWIFT network; speed transfer to the Philippines and Sri Lanka; mutual fund
purchases; Zakat calculator and payments and charity payments.
The international fund transfer facility has a maximum daily limit of RO2,500. For speed
transfer to the Philippines and Sri Lanka, the maximum daily limit is RO500. Customers
can make Zakat payment up to a maximum of RO2,500 a day and for charity payment,
the maximum daily limit is RO500. For each of these services, mBanking customers are
allowed up to five transactions a day.
With the introduction of the new mBanking App, the old App will cease to function and all
mobile banking customers are required to update the mobile app available on the IOS,
Android and Blackberry stores.
The existing user names and passwords of mBanking customers will remain valid and all
data relating to beneficiaries registered for payment transactions, including utility bill
payment, will be available. Additionally, data relating to payment beneficiaries registered
on Internet banking and branches will also be automatically reflected in the new
mBanking
App.
Instant bill payments and top-ups for Omantel, Ooredoo and OIFC is another attraction of
the new mBanking service. Customers will be able to check their outstanding bills and
then make real time payments for these billers. Customers will also have the option to
set up standing instructions for future dated and recurring transactions on mobile
banking for most of the key services like bill payments, funds transfer and remittances.
The new non-financial mBanking services include loan statements, loan calculator,
request of statement through email, request for changing email and mobile number,
customer profile views and push notifications. For mBanking registration, customers can
provide a local as well as international mobile number.

4. Citibank UAE launches contactless payment cards


Citibank UAE and MasterCard launched on Sunday contactless payment technology for
Citi MasterCard credit cards in the country. The launch marks an expansion of Citis
contactless payments to the companys UAE-based cardholders.

The initiative aims to enhance the consumer spending experience, and support the UAE
in becoming more technologically advanced.
Contactless payments are payment transactions that do not require physical contact
between the credit card and the merchants terminal, and are faster and more secure,
according to Citi.

5. Network International to Launch Mobile-free Payment


Service
Quisk Middle East, a global payments technology company, has signed an agreement
with Network International, a payment solutions provider, to deploy a cashless, cardless
and mobile-free payment service in the UAE, according to a statement on Sunday.
The payment service, led by Dubai Smart Government (DSG) and developed by Quisk,
will be deployed by Network International across its points of sale (POS) merchant
network in the country this year. It enables people to pay without the use of cash, cards
or
their
mobile
phones.
The service is part of DSGs mission to integrate technology to create innovative
solutions that will boost Dubais overall economic welfare and global competitiveness,
while contributing to social progress.
The cloud-based service utilises mobile phone numbers and a secured PIN to create and
access a digital cash account. It does not require smart phones or mobile operator
services and can be used for both physical and online payments for a range of
transactions including retail, government services and bill payments.
