JOB SUMMARY

The Plant Mechanic A is responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining all industrial equipment at the
mine and plant site. This includes installing/repairing mechanical piping, rotating equipment, fabricating and
welding. The individual must be able to demonstrate proficiency in pump rebuilding, equipment alignment,
pipeline welding and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Work incident and injury free.


Repair rotating equipment including pumps, agitators, crushers, mills, and turbines.
Cut and welding, including pipes, tanks, and steel fabrication.
Install/repair HDPE, FRP and Steel pipe lines.
Troubleshoot various mechanical equipment and piping systems to determine the root cause of
equipment failures.
Operate cranes, boom trucks and man lifts.
Shift work may be required.
Completes any other tasks as needed or as directed by management.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Three (3) years minimum industrial experience as a Mechanic or related role.


Laser equipment alignment experience (pumps, motors).
Gas turbine repair technician experience.
Ability to rebuild pumps (centrifugal, PD, slurry and vertical) back to manufacturing tolerances.
Ability to fabricate piping systems using a variety of pipe (HDPE, FRP, Poly line steel pipe, CS pipe,
Alloy).
Ability to properly tension belt drive systems.
Able to pass all positions for CS flat plate welding.
Previous rigging experience.
Three (3) years minimum experience troubleshooting maintenance issues on conveyors, elevators, dust
collectors, fans and crushers.
Prior experience installing roller, ball and antifriction bearings.
Prior lubrication experience (ultra sonic lubrication, pressurized oil systems, sampling gearboxes).

REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

HS/GED, required.
Graduate from an applicable certified apprentice program or company approved mechanical training
program.
Valid Drivers License and a good driving record are required in order to drive company vehicles on
property.
HS/GED, required.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Our facility sits at an elevation of 4700 feet.
Department of Labor Physical Demand Category: Very Heavy
Employees are subject to extreme weather conditions:
Freezing winter weather
Extreme desert summer heat.
Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include expose to moving mechanical
parts, toxic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.
