English & Maths Classes

The society is seriously considering starting tuition classes for children of all ages in
English & Maths. If successful , other subjects would be considered. It is hoped the
fees will be very nominal just to meet the running expenses. If you think you may
be interested, email us on hcslondon@hotmail.co.uk
It is hoped classes in other subjects may also be considered

Condolences
Its with great regret and sorrow we have to inform you the passing
away of:
1. Smt. Bhagwani Devi Taneja, respected mother of our life
member Brij Taneja in India on 1.7.2016
2. Sh. Krishan Saggar, one of our pioneer members & founder of
our HCS Day Centre passed away on 7.7.2016 at the age of 87

May their souls rest in peace.

RAKSHA BANDAN has great significance for brothers and sisters because it gives
them a chance to celebrate the deepest and noblest of human relations- the everlasting love
and eternal bonding between brothers and sisters.
When the sister ties the holy thread Rakhi on her brothers wrist, she prays to God for
the safety and prosperity of her brother while the brother takes a pledge to protect his
sister at all times. The Tilak that is put on the brothers forehead is a
symbol of awakening of soul-consciousness. It also symbolises
victory against vices including lust, greed, ego, attachment and pain
Happy Raksha Bandan

Independence Day - The struggle for India's Independence began in 1857 with the
Sepoy Mutiny in Meerut. Later, in the 20th century, the Indian National Congress and
other political organizations, under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi, launched a
countrywide independence movement. It was on 15th August 1947 when the British rule
came to an end and India became a sovereign nation. Every

year The Independence Day is celebrated with great

enthusiasm all over India tributes are paid to the
freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to gain the
freedom for India. The main event takes place in New
Delhi where the Prime Minister hoists the National Flag at
the Red Fort accompanied by gun salute , parade , air shows, fireworks and
musical concerts
