Team Taught / Collaborative: A Special Education Teacher will be in the general education
class with your student.
Resource: Your student will be in the special education classroom with the Special Education
Teacher.
Regular Class Placement: is the least restrictive placement for all students. This placement
alone, without some type of special education supportive services, is not suitable for a child with
a disability and is usually considered unsuitable by the eligibility committee.

*SLO will be in place of the EOC in various subjects. Students and Parents to be notified of which test
students will have either a SLO or an EOC.
GRADING SCALE:
90-100 = A
80-89 = B
70-79 = C
Below 69 = F*
*Please keep in mind that grades of D are not given, students are required to have scores of 70 and
above to pass a course.
ATTENDANCE POLICY:
Regular and Prompt class attendance is an essential part of the educational experience. Hapeville
Charter Career Academy expects students to use good judgment in regards to attendance.
Students will accept full responsibility for ensuring that their work is not interrupted because of
absences. All students are expected to attend ALL scheduled classes on time. Exceptions may be
made for illness and valid emergencies.

CLASSROOM REQUIREMENTS:
Homework will be given periodically throughout the week. It will be collected at the beginning of
class the day it is due. It is YOUR responsibility to ensure your homework and assignments are
complete. You will be given the opportunity to make up an assignment at most three times before
the assignment is marked in the gradebook as a 0. Please keep in mind that after the first,
second and third opportunity to make up the assignment is given, that the possible grade will
decrease.
If you are absent it is your responsibility to secure any missed assignments as well as notes.
Please note that the amount of days that you were absent will be the amount of days allowed to
make up assignments.
MATERIALS NEEDED:
Notebook Paper - Several Packages
Different Colored Notebooks/Binders (1 per subject)
Different Colored Folders (Colors should correspond with above Notebooks 1 per subject)
Pencils and Pens
Highlighters
Notecards Several Packages
Jump Drives to save important documents that might need to be printed at school
TI-30X Calculator - $15 (WalMart/Staples) Students need to understand that the use of Cell
phones in the classroom will not be permitted for the use of a Calculator. ALL students are
required to purchase a calculator for ALL Math and Science classes!
PROGRESS REPORTS:
IEP Progress reports, reflecting your childs progress on his/her goals and objectives will be
issued on or around the time that Progress reports are sent home from the school. This will occur
every 6 weeks.
Parents will be notified if students may be receiving a grade of 70% or less before progress
reports are officially issued. Students progress reports should be signed and returned to the
Teacher.

All Resource conferences will be scheduled between the hours of 3:15-4:45 Monday Thursday.
Emergency meetings will be considered in an as needed basis!
TUTORIAL SESSION - LITERATURE:
It is your responsibility to come after school for additional assistance. Please note that if you are
absent lessons cannot be retaught during the class period.
Tuesday/Thursdays : 4:15 5:30 pm unless student request assistance on another day.
