Dear Parents and Students:

Welcome to Resource Learning!
Our main purpose is to offer a program to students with disabilities and speech impairments. The courses
are selected from the Fulton County curriculum and are adapted according to the students individual
learning needs outlined in their Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Our goal is to ensure that those students with disabilities have an opportunity to develop to their full
potential in the least restrictive environment (LRE). Below is a list of terms that you will hear and become
familiar with:

Team Taught / Collaborative: A Special Education Teacher will be in the general education
class with your student.
Resource: Your student will be in the special education classroom with the Special Education
Teacher.
Regular Class Placement: is the least restrictive placement for all students. This placement
alone, without some type of special education supportive services, is not suitable for a child with
a disability and is usually considered unsuitable by the eligibility committee.

The subjects covered will be based on Georgia Performance Standards (GPS):

Business Education
Foreign Language
Language Arts
Math
Physical Education
Science
Social Studies/Civics/Government
Resource: Life/Social Skills and Study Skills (Specially Designed Instruction)
