PDTrac DA Board Replacement Instructions

Warning: The AC Power External Reference cable should be installed with no AC power present inside of the
PDTrac enclosure. Assistance of an electrical person is strongly recommended.
Required tools:
1. Laptop Computer, (to use with PDTracPro)
2. PDTracPro Iris aplication
3. RS232 Serial Cable
4. #2 and #3 Robertson screwdriver.
5. 5/16 wrench.
6. wrench.

Procedures:
1. Download database from the PDTrac. Refer to PDTracPro manual for instructions.
2. Purge memory. Refer to PDTrac manual for instructions.
3. Turn off and disconnect AC power supplying the PDTrac.
4. Remove lower plate.
5. Remove AC power connector from the Terminal Bard.
6. Using 5/16 wrench disconnect RG316 Input Cable from Data Acquisition Board.
7. Remove Equipment Temperature module.
8. Disconnect 20 pin ribbon cable.
9. Remove all four screws holding electronic unit.
10. Flip electronic unit and disconnect AC power cable.
11. Disconnect 20 pin SOM cable, if applicable.

Remove the power supply shield.


Remove communication board, if applicable.

Disconnect DC power cable. Pull on the connector housing


ONLY (pulling by wires might actually damage wire locks)
Disconnect AC power cable.
Remove 6-32 power supply mounting screws.

Remove the three 6-32 nuts holding power supply adapter


board.
Do not lose the two nylon spacers, these need to be installed
back between the two bottom standoffs and the power supply
unit.

Disconnect both 50-pin connectors from the DA board,


Do not pull by the ribbon cable, this might damage
connections of some leads and the PDTrac might not
work properly.
The best practice is to pull by the sides of the connector at
the same time.

10. Remove all 6-32 standoffs.


11. Remove the two 6-32 nuts.
12. Remove defective DA board.

13. Inspect MC11 board and all other components of the


PDTrac for any visible demages or overheated
components.
14. If no visible problems are present install new DA board.
15. Assemble all parts in the reverse order, starting from point
number12 and to point number 1.

Connect the cable as shown in picture #5.


Reconnect all cables that were disconnected during initial process.
Insert the electronic unit and secure it with the mounting screws.
Verify all parts are properly installed.
Reconnect the AC power source and verify operation of the PDTrac, from the front panel restore
hardware (RESET HARDWARE, Diagnostics Maintenance Maintenance menu #4). Please refer to
PDTrac manual.
17. From the front panel display verify DC voltages, Self Test menus.
