Mary. This is considered a Holy Day of Obligation,
though this year it is not obligatory to attend
Mass, as it falls on a Monday. If you would like to

Part-Time position At St. Austin Parish!

The Administrative Assistant for Discipleship Formation

supports the Director and Associate Director of Discipleship
Formation in the ministry of the parishs Faith Formation
programs. This is a parttime, 10 hour per week (with a few
weeks that may involve up to 15 hours), nonexempt position that
is perfect for someone who is flexible, organized and dependable.
The Administrative Assistant for Discipleship Formation must be
available on Sunday mornings from 8:30 12:30 and one other
day during the week for 6 hours.

Empowered by the Spirit Mark your calendars!

Empowered By the Spirit is a new initiative here at

the UCC intended to help our undergraduate
students in their vocational discernment. Mark
your calendars for these 3 events coming up in
September. We will have more information on
each event as it approaches.

Full-Time Volunteer Fair. Wednesday, September 14th,
4:00-7:00 pm. Over 20 organizations will be here to share
information on their full time volunteer programs.
CROSS+ROADS. Sunday, September 18th. This is a new
group which will meet once a month to pray, reflect, and discuss
topics related to vocational discernment.
Silent Retreat. Saturday, September 24thSunday,
September 25th at Eagles Nest Retreat Center.

Private Retreat, August 26-28. On this weekend, eight

bedrooms will be available for a self-guided silent retreat. A shared
lounge and kitchenette is available as well as confessions and
adoration on Saturday evening and Mass on Sunday morning.
Participants must bring their own food and spiritual reading.
Cost is $100 for a private room or $160 for a shared room.
Catholic services appeal (CSA) update

As of April 29, 2016, UCC

parishioners have pledged
$7,141.18 to the CSA, which is
123% of our goal of $5,800.
Parishioners have paid $5,331.18 to the CSA, which is about 75%
of the total amount pledged. Thank you all!
