Grading
Nine weeks grades are calculated using the percentages below.
Daily Grades- 30%
Homework- 10%
Major Grades- 60 %
Homework
Homework is assigned on a regular basis. The assignments offer students an opportunity to
explore algebraic concepts that have been or will be presented in class. Students who do not
submit homework as scheduled will need to report to Homework Detention after school to
complete it.
Tutorials
Tutorials are help on Wednesdays from 2:45- 4:00pm. Tutorials provide additional support to
advance student achievement and growth. Students will receive notification of their scheduled
tutorials.
Supplies
All students are required to bring a backpack to school daily. In addition, students will be
required to maintain a class binder that will be provided by the school. Lastly, students will
need to supply their own pens, pencil and other supplies as deemed appropriate by their
teachers.
Attendance
Maintaining good attendance in the ninth grade is a top priority. When students miss a day of
school, they miss vital instruction. Tutorials and make up work do not replace any classroom
time that was missed. If a student skips class, that counts as an absence. After the second
absence, in a class, a parent contact will be made by the teacher. After the third absence, a
parent conference is required with an administrator and the teacher.
