Assignment
The purpose of this assignment is to get to know
one another, while introducing the units essential
question. This assignment will set the tone for
your success in the class and demonstrate your
skills at outlining your goal and personal mission
as a student.
Upon completing the assignment, not only will you
better understand yourself through self-reflection,
but you will also learn about your classmates and
what they represent.
WORD
Think of a word that describes the characteristic
you are proudest of or strive to obtain OR a verb
that sets the tone for what YOU represent. In
doing so think of the person you are and the
person youd like to be. The word MUST be
positive and meaningful to who YOU are as a
person and be your guiding motivational keyword
to guide your academic success.

CHECKLIST

Pointers
PowerPoint is the suggested program to use
for this assignment. If you visit the website at
the end of the handout, there are templates
available for you to use. If you can accomplish
the same product using a different program,
you may do so as well.
FONTS:
Use a font that stands out and make sure its
size is appropriate and easily seen from a
distance.
TEXT COLOR:
Change the text color of the word and quote
so that it is visible on your background.
INSTERTING PHOTO:
To insert student photos, simply click on
insert and then photo and select the
picture from your computer that you would
like to insert. There are a few ways to move
the photo to the back so that the text shows
up on top of it. One way is to press and hold
control and click on the image. Then click on
arrange and send to back.
SAVING SLIDES AS JPEGS:
After your photos and text are all set up, you
will want to save the slides as individual jpegs
so that you can send them to a photo center
to be printed. To do this, click on file and
then save as and then select JPEG. This
will save each slide as an individual photo that
you can upload to your favorite photo site!
The slides are already formatted to be 8 x 10
inches, so if you would like to have the photos
printed in a different size, you may have to
