Tata Power's Club Enerji Rally sensitises students and the public on Energy Conservation and

Afforestation in Ahmedabad

Led by 250 students and school staff from Shri Narayana Guru Vidyalaya, Ahmedabad

Club Enerji, Tata Power's school outreach programme, which was initiated in 2007, has been working
towards sensitising children and the public at large about the importance of conserving energy and
afforestation through various innovative modules. In line with this commitment, Tata Powers Club
Enerji students from Shri Narayana Guru Vidyalaya, organized an Awareness Rally in Ahmedabad
today to create social awareness around the necessity of energy conservation and afforestation.

The objective of awareness rally was to educate the residents of Ahmedabad about the need for
energy conservation and the various ways to conserve energy. About 250 students and school staff
participated in the awareness rally spreading the message on energy conservation and sensitising
close to 1500 people. The rally was well received and passed through the busy markets of
Ahmedabad. Before the rally, students of Shri Narayana Guru Vidyalaya came together to prepare
banners, placards and posters which depicted various ways of conserving energy.
Speaking on this initiative, Mr. Anil Sardana, MD & CEO, Tata Power, said, Tata Powers Club Enerji is
a national movement that has covered more than 450 schools in 11 cities. The initiative is playing a
vital role in developing and molding young minds to be responsible citizens of tomorrow. The rally is
a step towards making long term impact and creating awareness about the importance of energy
conservation. We would like to thank the students and management of Shri Narayana Guru Vidyalaya
for extending their whole-hearted support and making this rally such a grand success."
The Club Enerji initiative has been contributing extensively towards a brighter and greener tomorrow
by undertaking several successful initiatives. The savings of 14.2 MUs of electricity is equivalent to
saving 14,200 tonnes of CO2 and is enough to light up over 6,943 houses for a year. Tata Powers
Club Enerji has won numerous accolades and has been recognized as a best practice in forums like
Learning Mission by the Tata group. A case study has also been done by IIM Ahmedabad on the
programme. Further, it has also won the gold at the ABCI awards in the category best
