Abstrak
Latar Belakang
Surgical exposure kadangkala diperlukan untuk keberhasilan perawatan
ortodonsi. Dengan surgical exposure diharapkan gigi impaksi dapat erupsi
dan menempati posisinya. Surgical exposure dapat dilakukan dengan
bantuan alat ortodonsi (forced eruption) atau tanpa bantuan alat ortodonsi
(natural autonomous eruption).
Tujuan
Melaporkan kasus surgical exposure pada gigi anterior rahang atas impaksi
untuk keperluan perawatan ortodonsi.
Laporan Kasus
Pasien seorang anak perempuan berusia 12 tahun, dirujuk dari poli
kedokteran gigi anak ke poli bedah mulut dan maksilofasial untuk dilakukan
surgical exposure. Pemeriksaan klinis tampak gigi insisif sentral rahang atas
kiri belum erupsi. Pemeriksaan radiografis tampak gigi insisif sentral rahang
atas kiri impaksi dengan posisi inverted. Pada gigi tersebut dilakukan surgical
exposure, lalu dipasang alat ortodontik. Kontrol dilakukan pada hari ke 14, 30
dan 60 pasca tindakan surgical exposure.
Simpulan
Tekhnik surgical exposure memberi kesempatan pada gigi impaksi untuk
erupsi pada posisinya.

Abstract
Background
Sometimes surgical exposure needs to be done in order to meet the best
result in orthodonti treatment. By doing surgical exposure, there is a chance
for impacted tooth to erupt in position. Surgical exposure can be done with
assistence of orthodonti appliance (forced eruption) or without assistance of
orthodonti appliance (natural autonomous eruption).
Objectives
Reporting the case of surgical exposure in anterior maxillary impacted tooth
for ortodontic treatment.
Case Report
Patient child, female, 12 years old, was refered from pedodontic clinic to oral
maxillo facial surgeon clinic to receive surgical exposure. From clinical
examination shows that left central incicive maxillary has not erupted yet.
From radiography imaging shows that left central incisive maxillary is
impacted in inverted position. After the surgical exposure was done,
orthodontic appliance was attached on crown of the tooth. Control post
surgical exposure procedure on day 14th, 30th, 60th.
Conclusion

Surgical exposure technique provides opportunities for impacted tooth to

erupt in position.
